Anyway how was the Marathon today Hot. Properly hot. Utterly unsuitable conditions to run such a race, but I got round in 6:39:55, which in those conditions I will take all day long. Atmosphere was as always brilliant, and I’ll look to giving it another go in 2020 or 2021, depending on itinerary and life in general. 😊 Thank you for asking 😊 Well done - that's a marvellous achievement, particularly in such trying weather conditions!

I'm sure this question has been asked before; but if a bus clips, scratches or lightly damages another vehicle, does the bus company have to pay for the thrid party's repairs? I ask this as drivers on a certain inner-city estates route which will remain nameless, have been driving extra cautiously of late.
Thanks in advance for any info shared.

Well yes, a collision has occurred and provided the accident has been reported and vehicle details exchanged it would be an insurance matter and they would decide who pays out and for what, if it’s a regular occurrence there would most likely be notices places in the garage so drivers are aware and advice on how to avoid it

I can't answer your question, but I can tell you what happened in London Transport days in the 1980s. I'd just passed my driving test and bought an old Ford Cortina. On leaving the traffic lights at Lee Green and turned left, indicating so, a 21 bus pulled away from the stop and went smack into the back of me. Insurance write-off, given I'd only paid £300 for the car, but I only had 3rd party and found, in dealing with LT's Insurance Dept. they had a blanket policy of refusing liability, unless a court case forced them to admit it. I got on quite well with the guy from that department, over the phone, having explained that I'd worked for LT in management, and I got the £300 back without too much aggro, but still admitting no liability on their part. I was more concerned that a youngish bus driver had got away with careless driving without sanction, but hey-ho.

I don't know where to put this but Transport for London just had a live sessions on Facebook. Talking about giving seats. What I wish they do is do a Facebook live where passengers can ask Transport for London about Transport for London I.e Buses, tube, timetables etc. That way Transport for London can see how passengers feel and passengers can see how Transport for London are going to respond. Those who have a facebook account the link to the Live session is below. link

Nearly 20 years ago my parked car was side swiped in Hampton by a TGM bus on what I think was then still the 726. As I surveyed the damage a builder working opposite told me what had happened and the time; as the car was driveable I went straight to Fulwell Garage to complain. As the car was decorated with TGM's distinctive blue and yellow paint they could hardly argue, and they paid for the damage without dispute.

Certainly back in the 70s London Transport did not not have insurance. They had a bond amount to cover claims. Things have obviously changed since then.

I suspect that for claims up to a certain level / of a certain nature they self insure. TfL does have an insurance subsidiary based in Guernsey. content.tfl.gov.uk/tfl-subsidiary-organisation-april-2018.pdfNote all the new property companies being established to handle property developments on TfL land.

That was why I said LT in the 1970s (when I first joined and used to speak to the Claims Manager about potential claims in public letters virtually every week).

This is definitely a rant. I went to Camden to get the last Tower Transit N31 to White City and the selfish idiot of a driver decided to take the bus out of service. Why the hell did he even do that?! It's very bad and I hope Tower Transit do get penalised for it as it just makes everything harder and means I miss out on something I waited several months for. Metroline I hope do not repeat this.

The driver did nothing wrong.

Had no idea why N31 went into my brain!!!

There could be logical reasons as to why that happened.
