<snip>
I was always taught to take care when to ring the bell, not too early in case the driver forgets I rung it, not too late so the driver has plenty of time to stop. People need to learn that lesson
<snip> "Not too early in case the driver forgets" doesn't really apply any more as a light now appears on the driver's dashboard once the bell has been rung. Which is where another factor comes in. Concentration and other distractions. I can get so engrossed in concentrating on the road and hazards that I forget it's been pressed until I remember to look. As previously mentioned the dash light doesn't always work. I have passengers that press before the doors have closed and then once they're closed it cancels the bus stopping light.

Is this my luck or something, I revise for the car theory test and the questions that pop up are the ones that I don't even know about. Any tips on how to pass a theory test guys, cos I want to become a bus driver ASAP.

Being straight to the point if you didn't know anything about this questions then you need to work a lot harder. If you get some spare time do questions, I'm pretty sure there's even an app you can download on your phone to help. Don't forget to practice hazard perception as well, this can be done through various CD Roms or online. Also don't rush, if you rush you're just going to rush to failure again. Take your time and you will do well.

Just got my latest insurance quote and it's £940 3rd party with 15 years no claim. Good luck though!

I would love to work for Stagecoach but I have had issues with some of their staff so it may be a bit difficult to get in there. I guess my next option is Go Ahead as I live in Lewisham.

If it's with managers then they still might appreciate your enthusiasm. Also Stagecoach pay rates are much worse than Go Ahead's, especially overtime rates.

I know Stagecoach pay one of the worst but I have a strong passion for them since age of 4.

I used a non official DVLA for hazard perception (it's the other one you can buy online) as it was really good. For my theory (pcv) I used the official DVLA theory test dvd and I basically practiced everyday for 3-4 months. I used various apps on my phone (only free ones which don't give all the questions) and practiced whilst out and at work.

I used the driving App (full version is £2.99 or something) plus the full version of the hazard perception test (again some £2.99). It becomes much simpler once I did that. I also did go through the entire DVLA material (books) which I must say is very helpful

Just got my latest insurance quote and it's £940 3rd party with 15 years no claim. Good luck though! You must be driving something very big and expensive for such high insurance! Mine is almost half of that with 8 years no claims 🤔 @stevenevill Get the theory test book and make sure you learn every single question. Get someone to test you if tou can. Get the CD and practice the hazard perception bit on your computer. Do that for a couple of weeks then book in your retest a few weeks later or whenever you feel ready. For car insurance, shop around for quotes at Go Compare, Money Supermarket, Confused, Compare The Market and Quidco. If you shop around you can save hundreds of pounds. Good luck!

Without going off topic too much I drive a 11 year old Ford but living in a rather dodgy E postcode don't help as it sets off alarm bells at Insurance companies

Yes I did say that but you have to be professional at work at all times so I would try to negoigate with my manager regarding the LTs or ideally go to a garage without LTs😯
