Interestingly if you now type in the postcode for HK onto the government website to check bus operators, Stagecoach now pop up.

Fleet numbers for hct group ? Just use LVF I was interested to see for myself: High-Level (i.e. not differentiating between ADL200 MMC vs non MMC and Optare Solo different lengths): ADL200 x 83 (1220-1295/1300-1301/1336-1340) Optare Solo x 24 (1740-1763) ADL Enviro 400H City x 50 (2501-2549/2600) BYD / Enviro 400EV City x 2 (2550-1) Total Fleet = 159

Design originates from 1990's and still going strong in 2022 with minor updates to the engines pretty impressive and will be the first Stagecoach ones in London I believe .

It's an interesting point re the age of the Optare Solo design - in July I travelled on the W5 end 2 end, and at Archway let the first W5 (ADL200 1300) sail by as I wanted to ride an Optare Solo on this route which the next service was (2010 vintage 1745).

The Office of the Traffic Commissioner now records HK and AW as East London Bus and Coach operating centres, so the expected takeover by Stagecoach of HCT Group's TfL operations has taken effect.

End of an era! Will be strange getting used to routes like the 388 which I associate so strongly with HCT being a Stagecoach route now and soon it’ll meet Selkent routes like the 136 and 177 at Peckham!

Not up on all the finer details of O Licenses / operating companies so do this mean HK and AW have been absorbed into the existing Stagecoach London companies from day one? Unlike like LI which is a separate company at the moment?

At least they retained it all the way from inception back in 2003 , and yes very sad just one last independent operator in London now sad times indeed , unfortunately I predict a few more bus companies going bust and cuts coming still in London very sad .

Isn’t there two - UNO & Sullivan Buses? Uno isn't an independent operator, being part of the University of Hertfordshire. Making the company itself very big indeed.

Kind of ironic really such a advanced garage has a tiny amount of charging facilities for the 323. I do appreciate what you are saying but really do think something has to give somewhere as HK and LI along with the free space at WH does seem excessive especially if rent has to be paid on all three! The 323 is the only route which needs then so I assume thats all they paid for. In the future they would probably be able to install them as they need them. HK is probably more likely to go than WH is, not to mention its head office and relocating head office is not a cheap endeavour at all. If Stagecoach were to vacate HK, I reckon Arriva would move their buses from CT there and mothball the latter base (again).

is LI not owned by TfL? I assumed it was . I agree regarding HK and said several times the routes can easily fit elsewhere within existing Stagecoach garages. 309 to WH 26 and 388 to LI, W13 could go LI or T. It depends how much Stagecoach want to expand in the future. HK would allow them to bid for a number of routes that would otherwise be too far from WH/BW/LI. Good point. A few examples that spring to mind are routes 76, 243 & 393.
