Does anyone know when the 'accredited bidders' are going to be announced for these 2 franchises.
From what I can see on the DfT website it says it should have been 23rd April, but that has been and gone.
Not really up on these processes, so can anyone help?

I think Civil service went into Purdah during the election campaign, consequently there hasn't been any government announcements since early April. Now probably awaiting ok from new Transport minister, who probably has to check everything so that will mean a further delay
Technically the new Government hasn't yet started, officially it starts with Queens speech

I'm eagerly awaiting the results of this. One, it effects who my dad directly works for, whilst second it'll change who i use to get into town from Romford!!
Unfortunately, i can't complain about the service that National Express have provided on the Liv St - Shenfield line, nor on the Southend Victoria service. The only problem i have is the fact that they refurbished the 315's in a very bad pink interior!! Also cleanliness of rolling stock has dropped quite abit under them since First! Can't comment too much on Severking's line ;D c2c, on the other hand, have always been fantastic

Seeing as NuLabour's franchise ended before NXEA's, I can't see why they can't stay ;D I'm sure the Tories will tear up Lord Adonis' plans to strip NXEA of the routes. It will cost money to get other bidders in, money we don't have! Also, NXEA have ordered new trains for the Stansted Express (according to Modern Railways mag), and hopefully something to replace the class 317s I must say c2c have done brilliant, esp. when you consider the knackered 1950's track and overhead line equipment btwn Fenchurch St and Shoeburyness I rode from Limehouse to Fenchurch Street the other day, it was so much nicer than the 317's and 315s on the Lea Valley Lines (West Anglia). It felt weird sitting on the seat and it not working loose or being completely trashed, and you could see the floor was clean I had a good mind to throw some McDonalds wrappers and old copies of The Sun and Metro on the floor along with spent Capri Sun pouches so I could feel more at home ;D

Yes, c2c have done brilliantly, especially in comparison with NXEA. I often use the Liverpool Street to Chingford line, and the trains are filthy, the seats are uncomfortable etc. I hope things improve soon. There are rare occasions, I think this only happens on Sundays, where you can sometimes get one of the more luxury trains (in comparision) which are actually clean and comfortable, that they usually use on Cambridge services. I usually try and get on the the first class carriage ;D

Especially now as we've gained the ex-London Midland batch too, so they're now all concentrated on the GER....fantastic

They really blend in ;D I used to be spellbound seeing these things passing thru Stratford, while I wait 30 mins for the next train to Tottenham Hale John you should come down to West Anglia and see how a real railway is run, with 317's with REALLY NOISY traction motors and some loose seats

It's really rare i use that line, but normally its for Harlow so a 317 trip will be the order of the day!! As for the 321's, well, it's even better in 12 car formation when you see all three hooked up together!!! Just a shame they can't do a 16 formation with 321446 added in as it's still in ONE colours ;D

The Greater Anglia ITT is/was scheduled to be issued tomorrow. Can't see how it can be given that the accredited bidders have not yet been announced.
Good to see yet another public body running so smoothly and efficiently. You never know they may surprise me!

I really hope they're announced soon!! It's annoying not knowing who';s going to be running the service. Must admit, as i always do, National Express have done quite well service wise with the additional fast services at Romford. As for crap units, the 315's win ;D What has struck me as odd is the fact that you used to be able to hear the motors in every car, now they're restricted to just the driver ends

Being a regular user of the Lea Valley line, I love the way the various types of 317s are seemingly allocated at random with hardly no distinction between them! I have had Stan Ex type 7 and 8s heading to Cambridge, type 6s on StanEx, whilst the HFE trains tend to be a type 5 and type 6 coupled up! Even bashed a type 7 on the local HFE stoppers and up to ENF!
Also it is odd how type 6's 649/50/51 are still in the old WAGN red/grey/cream livery and have not been touched with ONE or NatEx colours at all.
With the type 8s currently going through a C6 overhaul, they are coming back in just plain white (with none of the NX silver/connector stripes) I think NX think it won't be worth it giving the units full livery for only a few months. Currently 882 and 883 are like this and look so odd in all over white!

As you say, it looks like NatEx have given up already

I love the dis-organized state of NXEA - they remind me of the England football team in their last match ;D Still, they do run to time, which is more I can say about the Overground btwn Dalston and Croydon. I waited ages after two were cancelled.
