Is the 697s allocation the YN56 SPs? No, they are for the extras... So what is the 697s allocation?

I saw it and the 698 are up for tender with the 183. I wonder what they will use. Maybe something from dealer stock

With most of the ex-139 VHs now moved to SO, I wonder if this could become a more permanent allocation, if the 183 is retained. The rest of the 13reg VHs at BT could replace the remaining SPs at SO.
The 28 could instead use various G3 VHs - a newer allocation and would be a more standard type if run from RP. This could include the 306 batch, plus the 65reg from the 139, and some of the spare VHs at RP (covering for the ADE loans to TF). If a few more are needed, some of the 65's VHs could also be used, with a few extra SPs on the 65 until end of contract.

I thought have stood down or sent to other garages to get rid of the older SPs.

It's often related to changeovers - there's no quick transport link from AV/HH to West Drayton or Hayes End.

There are no remote changeovers on those, and even if there were, there is a thing called a ferry car/van, that almost every operator uses for driver changeovers instead of having the staff rely on public transport. But I forgot, for so many people on here, all cars are the most evil things ever created and we can't have bus drivers using them to get to/from actually driving our beloved buses...

Not evil and they certainly have their uses but I do think overall car usage is far too high even pre Covid
