What partial conversion to hybrids before the Tower Transit contract? There are three LTs at AV currently with driver and engineer training being undertaken - the 111 will be moving over to LT operation at the end of August… Really! What's the point may I ask. Perhaps SP's spare from the 111 will be used on the X140 and 49 if electrics are late (until they arrive.) Will be intersting to see LT's before it passes to Abellio.

Maybe it was the 267 but I could have sworn I saw a DR on the H28 on Twickenham Road in Brentford once. The H28 doesn't operate in Brentford, unless you are referring to Syon Lane area?
The H28 has only been operated by London & Country, Tellings Golden Miller, Travel London & Abellio London

Currently, the shortest-lived LT operation was the 48 which lasted for about 2 1/2 years when it was converted in 2017 until its withdrawal in late 2019.

Could it have been one of these trips that you saw, with the bus still showing R68 on the side or rear? R68 could be mistaken for H28 from a distance.

Could the 71 always be a contender given that it has had for a while been allocated 2 LTs but now have returned to V?

I don’t think SPs will be able to be used on those routes because both the previous contracts at Metroline and Abellio were hybrid. Might be wrong here so anyone feel free to correct me.

I agree when existing buses need to be used temporarily operators usually try to use the newest buses possible especially as its a new contract gain.

I think the 49 will be alright as according to LOTS BCEs are being stored whislt upgrades happen at SO and FW whereas S already have the infrastructure so can go straight into service.

The LT's which will be allocated to the 111 (in the future) might be used to cover for with the 49 and X140 with the 111's SP's staying for a little longer.
