1 hour+ gap on the 235 in Sunbury today. Managed to get a 290 > 285 which managed to beat it. Sometimes I scratch my head wondering why people want this operator winning more… If anything they should be losing. Because that's not how it works. If the same experience was on every single route they operated, I'd agree but really, you can only say it about the routes that are actually performing poorly such as the 125 or 235 to name two. The 157 was terrible under Abellio in terms of gaps, multiple daily turns and the vehicles inability to keep with running times and I was absolutely delighted when they lost that route but that never ever spilt over into wanting them to lose other routes when those routes didn't have the same issues.

Don’t forget the occasional vehicle blowing up when they ran the 157.

Indeed, and it's a pretty d*mning indictment of the tendering system that despite providing a sub standard service on the 49 they still keep the contract, probably because nobody else wanted it.

I rode past that. Before I did I saw a 140 Harrow bound turning left in Northolt where the 282 would and I was like "where are you going?" 😶🤨

Turns galore on a range of RATP routes today. All of route 220 and 295 buses are being curtailed to either Putney Bridge and Fulham Broadway for some reason while nearly every route 49 bus is curtailed to Battersea, Latchmere Road.

You do realise that drivers are bound by driving hours, which is the law. The 220 is suffering with a lot of delays so on routes like 220 and 295 we have to get curtailed so we dont go over our hours. Also the running time on the 220 hasnt been adapted to the 20mph speed limit so the 220 is constantly running late without the traffic. We only make it on time by sacrificing our stand time. Some duties on the 220 can go up to 12.5 hours and we are allowed to only drive 10 hours a shift.

This is one of the reasons why I’m leaving the 220 rota to join the 18 Yes I am aware of the driving hours cap that bus drivers are bound to and rightly so. Glad you have identified that increased running times on these routes are needed. You would think new schedules would be getting drawn up as service control on these routes makes them literally unusable during the day especially in peak hours.

As if this route isn’t slow and insufferable and unreliable enough already. It was such a nice route to use when traffic was light because the drivers were always quick but I’m not sure if that’s changed lately

Luckily I had a pleasant 220(N) experience a few months ago where one of your colleagues floored it in a VH from Willesden Junction to Hammersmith, making that trip just less than 20 minutes! I hope that more stringent ISA controls don't make that a thing of the past soon.

I’ve been on a few 69’s and U5’s with Ees/BYDs where the driver’s been caning it, tbh it’s in the operators’ interest as well to make sure the bus can keep to the schedule and not be late

Seems a bit random whether it wants to work or not 🤷🏻♂️

MCM30084 and 91 are playing follow the leader on 117. On a Sunday. With no traffic of note in the area.
