Anything going on in Staines? I've seen loads of 203s being blinded for Staines, Crooked Billet Roundabout recently.

Anything going on in Staines? I've seen loads of 203s being blinded for Staines, Crooked Billet Roundabout recently. Yes, it’s a shambles currently. Temporary lights outside the old police station again, which have been temperamental. Temporary lights by the train station. Light phasing knackered at the iron bridge (I reported to council over a year ago and they acknowledged there was a fault with them). I feel for RATP as all four routes (117, 203, 216 and 290) are suffering.

216 is also blessed with temp lights twice in Ashford, within a few hundred yards of each other - the Great Mills bridge set again, temperamental - and the works at Merityre in Sunbury. The route has really suffered as a result with long delays in both directions. It was good of them to wait until the schools are back for most of those I’ve mentioned!

Nice to see it back at X garage. I guess this finds a home for the OMEs for the next 3-7 years. Update: 31 is for 7 years with new EVs. i guess the OMEs will be used on something else, maybe the 452. No spoilers but another forum member will be very happy(!) with another of the results coming out Also, route 31 is a more spectacular gain than their previous one, route 340. This only partially offset a loss of route 251 the same day, but route 31 is a pure gain.

RATP did have an Electroliner for a while at X so I wonder if they were considering that for their future orders. I wouldn't rule out City's though to match the 295 along with more BEs for the 33 and 218. Also although it was awarded to London Transit, the route could still run from S if space was needed at X couldn't it? I would have liked it at S, to epitomise its relatively recent extension to White City. X is a good choice though. If anything, route 295 would seem a better move to S than route 31.

S might be a good place for the 220 to return to if/when RP closes. Although, I doubt it has space for another route.

Not to mention the 117 which has to endure two sets of TTLs between Ashford and Feltham. Is it all a plot to cut Spelthorne off from the rest of the world?

So it won't be a pure gain unfortunately I suppose that if route 414 is reprieved until next Spring, route 31 will just be a direct replacement. But I think route 414 will be withdrawn in November.

I've always assumed it has a lot of space as it seems as though, except for the 218, its been on a decline of routes i.e. 10,9,211,27,306,391 and I can't think of any replacements. It's very sad in a way how RATP have lost all these central London routes, and the fact that they only have a handful left, even less if they hadn't bought X!

All that's come in has been the 283 and 440, 272 has been there for ages. Both could certainly run from V, would doubt the 295 would ever move from X as it is a very convenient location. It'll be sure to have space for the 18 if that needs to come in as it is a huge garage, and all the 31 gain does is replace lost space from the 28 loss. 295 replaces 328, leaving routes like the C3, 228, 414 (if withdrawn) unaccounted for, so there's still potential for route 18 to return if needed.

I completely forget about V but yes that would be a good place for the 220. 295 not as much as V doesn't have any electric chargers so the 295 wouldn't be able to move there just yet.
