I was thinking of day services and how the 8 and 25 used to serve Victoria The 8 to Victoria was a good link. However, I was quite sadden due to the fact that the 8 was getting shortened to OC to reduce traffic flow in the Oxford Street area.. Now you'd have to have all that fuss on changing to a C2 at OC which does the old section Route 8 or change at TCR for a 38. It was a handy link for me but I'll admit, I think TfL were right to remove it - not just for the reducing buses from Oxford Street bit but when I used it, it wasn't exactly brimming with people either.

The C2 link to victoria picks up resonably amount between victoria and oxford circus especially in the peaks and you do get some using it from camden all the way. I never had it really busy on my bus though

Considering the 25 to Victoria had been around for years, and was complemented by the 32, which was lost after the bus strike in the 1960's, in recent years there has only been the 8 which was a link to Victoria. How many 'new' routes over the years have jammed up Oxford Stret, not to mention the widening of the pavements? And who in his right mind would get off a bus at OC and go on to Victoria by tube?

That provides the primary Oxford Circus - Victoria link. It, of course, replaced the 500 Red Arrow about 20 years ago. Where we do now have a weakness is the lack of buses between the City / Holborn and Victoria. This is where the loss of the 8 and 25 is most marked. There is only the 11 (I think) between parts of the City and Victoria. Years ago we had the 8, 11, 25, 76 and 149 (some of these peak only) that linked the City and Victoria.

First London should take route 8 whilst Stagecoach should take over route 38. Can't believe I've just read that. 8 run by first? I'd rather have Docklands Buses or CT Plus take over.

First London should take route 8 whilst Stagecoach should take over route 38. Why? eh? I don't think route and operator swapping fantasies are discussed at the Tender meetings and reviews, freebbc,

Some route swaps could take place that would save money all round, for example..
33 - To Abellio (Twickenham) 57 - To London General ( AL ) or Arriva London ( BN) 117 - To London United (HH) 235 - To London United (HH) 285 - To Abellio ( Twickenham or Hayes) 293 - To Quality Line 411/641 - To London United (TV) 465 - To London United (TV) K1/K3 - Reversed to remain at London United (TV) R70 - To London United ( FW) 290 - To London United (FW)

You could also have;
U7/U9 : Abellio (WS) > First (UX) - Seeing as both routes terminate at the garage 90 : Metroline (PA) > First (HS) / LU (HH) - Runs close to these garages 195 : First (HS) > Abellio (WS) - Runs a stones throw from the garage
