Is there any outstanding First London orders as like the sale of Stagecoach London to Macquire Bank in 2006, the outstanding orders will have to go through in whatever spec First ordered them in. Possibly buses for the 425. There is no decision about DM, but the DN's soon to become spare could have been helpful for Metroline to get old crap out (I.E. VPL's etc ;D) I wouldn't be surprised if the 425 is the Route where the brand new logo is launched.

I believe that Metroline will not make any changes to the vehicles upon their take over of the 5 First London Garages. So if you like TN, VNs and that sort of stuff then you are 'all good'.
Before any decisions can be made, the company need to sort out the leased vehicles in that 400 plus vehicle package. So it will be a slow process just like with Armchair.
I'm not particularly happy with the HS and UX deals but that's for my own personal reasons...
However, I'm sorry but I cannot read comments such as 'that crap operator Metroline' and take it on the chin. That's absolute nonsense. If Metroline were so crap they would have not been allowed to carry on running with the huge percentage they do.
Fair enough you may not be happy with the change in operators and I can sympathize as it is sad to see yet another operator go, but lets not making up crazy statements.
I find it hard to believe that because of a change of logos, service A will start to be run awfully. I must say I do feel it for the employees of the company who feel their job is in doubt, but hey Metroline are a good company so it's not all bad.

From what I can remember, First, like Arriva, rarely lease vehicles (the Artics seem to be the only exception) so that shouldn't be a problem. I'm very dismayed by the news, not just for the staff, but as already mentioned, North West London is virtually Metroline run now. Arriva own all their vehicles even the Artics.

Metroline in my experience are very hit and miss at times as I've had really nice buses and some that even Dartford would be thinking whoa somethings up here. Now First I've never had any problems with so lets hope there engineers are kept on to keep the standards high in there depots.

But if someone thinks that a company is a bad company or a good company it's there opinion and not a statement.

Im not really too fond of them myself but really it's better to respect the opinion than react against it. If you cannot cope with the comments altogether then all I suggest is for you to pull out of the thread altogether to try and prevent any heated discussion about 'This and that' on Metroline.

In here in the south of the river this is still big news. Im guessing that first won't keep DM as it seems strange that they would get rid of all garages except this one. Maybe stagecoach will get them at a later stage seeing as they will gaining most of their routes.
As for staff been affected it shouldn't do but im would be surprised if it didn't in some way regarding routes being moved around. Same thing as what happen with abellio buying off travel london and the route 3. Of course, this was after they won the route again for a further 5 years

Well i personally say that 2013 have been a bad year for First London. I am glad the Australians and Metroline saved the routes as well as the workers. I hope to see some Australian built buses to run in London. Just because its ran from an Australian company it doesnt mean Australian buses will be ordered. ELBG were ran from an Australian bank yet they ordered Omnicities and E200s Well London United (and Transdev before it) haven't bought French buses (e.g. Irisbus Agoras) Have you ever tried to get things from Australia to the UK for something small it costs a lot and buses aren't exactly small. I don't think we'll be seeing Aussie buses. Many ex. UK Optare Excels made it halfway across the world to New Zealand though, as well as the last ever Optare Spectra. The olny 'bad' point about Metroline is route 43, Everything else rules! ;D Although I would've liked to have seen more variety in North West London.

A reliable source on Facebook mentioned that there is a possibility of redundancies with the changes - I guess we'll have to wait and see. If true, then I feel for those members of staff involved.

God no My idea is to hand the 365, 165 and 252 routes early to Stagecoach and then TUPE the staff to stagecoach, that would stop the redundancies.

I find it hard to believe that because of a change of logos, service A will start to be run awfully Go-Ahead made sure the 476 was run just as badly as First ran it, so there was continuity ;D I think Metroline will do well with the new routes - it will be weird seeing Metroline 207's though

Sadly for the staff involved I suspect this is true and some will go. Generally this tends to be middle / upper management and back-office staff where new company can use its existing staff and systems to control things and do it its way. Often the most expensive to make redundant are left, and those cheaper to make redundant (less years service) go instead. The worst thing will be uncertainty for next few weeks.
