TfL are consulting on a short term trial of closing Narrow Way in Hackney. consultations.tfl.gov.uk/buses/narrow-wayI confess to being a bit shocked about the D6 proposal of curtailing at Ash Grove garage. That will not be popular with passengers even if I understand why it is being done - loss of stand space.

Could of at least extended the D6 to Clapton Pond using the 393 stand or extend the D6 to Clapton, Nightingale Road.

Could of at least extended the D6 to Clapton Pond using the 393 stand or extend the D6 to Clapton, Nightingale Road. Or even run light to Clapton Pond via Pembury Rd to stand. It's a pity that Arriva can't have their "arm twisted" to allow the D6 to stand at Clapton Garage. Such a large curtailment away from the main centre of Hackney is plain stupid and not tenable as a long term solution.

Just a very bad idea, extend the D6 to that bus station (can we even call it that?) in Dalston Junction?

Just a very bad idea, extend the D6 to that bus station (can we even call it that?) in Dalston Junction? It's just a pity that access to the bus station is so awkward. Buses just jam solid on the approach to Dalston Junction meaning it would take extra time to get into and out of the bus station costing extra buses. Unfortunately you can't duck round the back roads from the east and get in because Forest Rd has been made one way (from the west) where it crosses the ELL. That seems rather stupid even though the roadway has been narrowed for weight restriction reasons. Some traffic lights could control passage - especially if only triggered by buses.

If that wouldn't work, how about making a bus stand in the Tesco Car Park ;D

Most routes that serve Hackney Central serve the surrounding the areas and many routes are duplicated, so right now I cannot think of new destination other than Lea Bridge Station when it re-opens but then again, then an argument remains that the lea bridge corridor would become overbussed from Lea Bridge R'about.

The worst idea i have heard of would only cause alot of congestion on dalston lane and amhurst road like it does when the narrow way is closed.

What about running the D6 to Clapton park making use of a soon to be redundant stand.

There is more than enough stand space in the clapton pond area for the 308/D6

Yes, right by the pond itself on that slip road.

Looks like this is going ahead next Saturday. All it has seamed to have done is just add a extra bus on the 55, 106, and 254. But I haven't seen anything if the D6 changes are going to happen yet though. But the W15 will finish at the Town hall and start at tesco.

I doubt they would have advertised the change if there was any doubt about it happening.

I was going by what was on Robert munsters site www.londonbusroutes.net/changes.htm I still don't understand what's the point in having these consultations when tfl are just going to do it anyway.
