+1 I can't name a single interesting thing about any of the routes that serve Kennington Station. Oi! Leave the 133 out of this, it's probably the best route I've done. The bit from Liverpool Street to Borough is a bit twisty and trafficy, but the rest is pure racetrack! Moz The 133 has some fast early & late journeys too, also the 333 & even the pointless 415 have some fast journeys.

75 , goes through awful places with no chances at all of any speed.
111 , hideous straight section Hanworth to Hounslow
337 , the most boring part of the former 37 trunk route. Straight , congested , and not at all interesting.
237 , same just long and straight.

Moz Guessing the N133 is quite satisfying, for the night-time running speeds and if all goes wrong there's 17 mins turnaround in Mitcham. I personally would like to see this extended to Morden via the 118 route at night, but that's another story............ I'm not a driver (of a bus anyway) but out of the routes I've travelled on recently the one which sent me to sleep the most was the 51. Miles upon miles of suburban houses that just looked the same (though 'The Oval' interested me, a bit like a village green somewhere in SE London)............

I always used to find driving the 152 and 155 at night boring, though loved doing the N155 which was more lively. Ah yes! The N155, I used this very regularly up to about four years ago, and got to know some of the regular night drivers to chat to. At the time, Sutton did the N155, the N213 (when it was Croydon to Kingston) and the 93 of a night. Asking one driver what was the best and worst, he said "N155 best - a better class of drunk on there. At least it's mainly adults from London, the 213 is all kids..........." Of course the super fast Morden to London in 37 minutes was a feature, and looking at a recent timetable it's still like that! At the time I was using it a lot it had EVLs on it, I see it's DOEs now....... Back to the boring routes, has anyone been on the 116? Looking at the map it's basically a 30 minute straight line through the outer reaches of West London, looks tedious but I haven't been on it...........

The 111 is the most boring route goes via some dead places. Same with the 197. The 197 tends to crawl all the way to Peckham, despite having the excellent Pulsar Geminis. And Barry Road must be the deadest road in London.

I'm with you Vjaska, I think its quite an interesting route, you've got long open stretches where you can get some decent speed and you got the 'round the houses' sections. There's a section near Nurserylands, I think its Acacia Road that certainly makes a DD look out of place. Boring routes that I can think of: 427 - Long, straight, slow and the Vehicles used have no character. At least the previously used TNL's had personality and character. U10 - Must travel via every narrow backstreet between Uxbridge & Ruislip. Vehicles rarely make it into 3rd gear and with its passenger numbers, you could use a Transit and still have spare capacity. If I was a driver, I'd hate to do this route.

I'd rather have the 111 than the 281 between Hounslow and Kingston, assuming a SLE or SP doesn't turn up on the 281 They both take roughly the same time. H22, too many side roads in Whitton The H32 really gets on my nerves a lot, so many parked cars and narrow roads. 105, often runs early and actually takes longer between Southall and Greenford Broadway compared to the E5 which instead uses Mini E200's The E8, really short and never really liked Boston Road

I'd knew the 111 would appear! ;D I'd would say the route is quite boring (apart from the sections Hampton-Kingston and Cranford-Heathrow or the fast bits). The 111 can be a bore in peak times however between Hampton Court and Kingston. 216 is another boring route in my opinion.

I quite like the 111 every now and again - the bit in Hampton/Hanworth always makes me lose my bearings as the bus makes three 90 degree left turns in quick succession! Also some of the drivers absolutely cane the ADEs along Hampton Court. That said, the last time I went on it, the driver hit a lamp post and knocked the nearside mirror clean off!
I almost lost the will to live when I went on the 117 once. Maybe because I was half expecting a more interesting ride, having come off the 216 which runs along quite a few fast roads. I often drive along much of the 117 route between Feltham and Staines when I do the Windsor rail replacement job.

I felt the same of the driver of DLA225 on the 243 this morning, like Spurs of late, he had trouble getting to third and staying there... I'll get my coat

Haven't yet been on an ADE on the Hampton Court leg yet, and it's been 2 weeks since the last ADE running (with my beloved ADE22) on the 30th April.

Goes no where interesting at all apart from Kingston. The 111 is the most boring route I've ever done I fell asleep when I took that from Hounslow to Kingston was so dead.
