Looks like TfL are keen to learn the lesson from last time. Hopefully the experience from the 24 and the cautious approach will mean a much more successful introduction of the vehicles onto the 11. I think the LTs have bedded in on the 24 really well now and I expect they'll work very well on the 11 too. They'd deserve to be pilloried if they hadn't learnt some lessons from last time! It was not far off a disaster given the breakdowns and the melt down in the service for several days. I expect City Hall have been on the phone telling TfL to manage the conversion process more effectively than for route 24. I'm not totally convinced that the heating and ventilation issues are resolved either so we can expect a flurry of complaints via Twitter even though that's not a statistically robust way of gathering opinion. Thankfully I am not lumbered with having to use route 24 or route 11 any more. EDIT - just had a look at LVF to see how the 24 is doing. About a third of the s/b service is being curtailed at various points in the West End and other buses are parked up at Warren St waiting to head north. There is also some bunching. Looks like situation normal for Metroline running the 24 then with no miracle cure offered by the "faster" NB4L. Anything that goes near or by Warren Street station/the Euston Road end of Tottenham Court Road has been experiencing delays this week due to a fault with the traffic lights. Add to that the 24 has been on diversion for a closure of Hampstead Road the problems with buses getting through are inevitable. I've gotta spend my 3rd day this week struggling to get a 205 through that today......

Any ideas how many LT's are likely to be out tomorrow and Sunday?

I've used the 24 several times after the conversion and apart from the first day my experience has always been good.
As for journey time and reliability, ever since they started messing with Warren Street junction traffic has just been going down hill. They have narrowed the northbound approach far too much now that there's only effectively one lane going straight. The turning lanes have been made so tight speeds and throughput have been massively reduced.

The LT59 entered into service early www.flickr.com/photos/88992756@N06/9841077453/It makes me think that LT62 entered into service early as it got a mention on London VF. I would laugh to see the NBFL on other routes operated by SW garage as odd working. xD

It has been mentioned on other groups that the LTs shown on the LVF today were route tested with the iBus switched on hence why they could be tracked on the LVF.

Leon Daniels has confirmed on another group that LT59 is the first NB4L on route 11 in service - he says it left Liverpool St station in service at 18:21

The "conductor" said there were about 6 NBfLs out on the day (turns out to be 7). It broke at Aldwych (headlamp fitting came loose - www.flickr.com/photos/wltmauc/9861136873/ ) and never made it to Liverpool Street. However, it did get fixed for me to get a better photo at Charing Cross! - www.flickr.com/photos/wltmauc/9860940715/

Anyone read Leon Daniels blog about the 11 changeover? It mentions that the change from WVL's to LT's will be over a 10 day period and the 390 will follow the same action.

I almost felt sorry for Mr Daniels given some of the remarks being made. The 'neil' guy was the person who was banned from here for abusing myself & others. Every thread used to be about how NBfL's are so 'great' and how OPO buses are so 'horrid'.

Now I consider myself quite 'normal' then! (Some of the enthuiasts took note of everything they saw-you get this at Showbus too, where as I only note down anything I catch) Still it was a great day out. Shame I couldn't make time to go to Crawley though

Shame I couldn't make time to go to Crawley though My only regret was not meeting people from the forum - too much riding the buses (I've visited all three garages before a few years ago).

This tweet suggests that an NBfL on the 11 (gasp!) has been involved (rather caused) an accident at Chelsea - hopefully all are alright:

I don't think it wise that we speculate too much at this very early stage - you have put a link up which people can look at and see if they wish.
