This tweet suggests that an NBfL on the 11 (gasp!) has been involved (rather caused) an accident at Chelsea - hopefully all are alright: It apparently passed a red light, hit a car and two other buses. It was "out of control" and had passengers on board. Pic has been posted up in another thread - involved a NBfL, a WHY on the 360 & possibly an Enviro 400 as well.

This tweet suggests that an NBfL on the 11 (gasp!) has been involved (rather caused) an accident at Chelsea - hopefully all are alright: I am sorry to "rain on your parade" but there is one tweet suggesting that is what happened. I am not aware of any corroboration of the facts nor any formal statement from the police or TfL as to what they have found. I am clearly not part of the management team on this group but I think we must all be very careful before anyone leaps to conclusions about cause and effect in this unfortunate incident.

Now I consider myself quite 'normal' then! (Some of the enthuiasts took note of everything they saw-you get this at Showbus too, where as I only note down anything I catch) Still it was a great day out. Shame I couldn't make time to go to Crawley though You are lucky, I woke up so late it wasn't worth going (after travelling it would have left me with less than an hour at MB). Even from Gallions Reach it takes around 2 hours to Orpington.

A quick look at LVF suggests the LT involved is LT62 : this bus's day appeared to end at 12:53. Whatever caused the accident, it's more rotten publicity for the NBfL : and it seems to be getting quite a lot of it at the moment...

It has damaged the WHY significantly though, as well as some LT damage. The info was from this account - twitter.com/onTheRiverDave - who apparently witnessed what happened, then tweeted it

Poor WHY4! I passed the scene while on DW76, the LT's frontage seemed pretty smashed up! No idea what the LT was doing along that road.

I rode WVL138 tonight and it took one and a half hours to get from Liverpool Street (after a long wait for it to turn up) to Victoria. There was horrific traffic due to the signal upgrade at Bank Junction, then a lorry and a car which had a coming together at Aldwych, and then traffic down the Strand because of the closure of Whitehall, then the diversion via Embankment past Westminster Abbey.... and then the usual traffic at Victoria - which wasn't that bad in comparison to the rest of the route!

I was stuck on Bishopsgate too - ended up walking it to Traf Square :/ Hopefully things should pick up tomorrow/today.

MODS MSG I don't think it wise that we speculate too much at this very early stage - you have put a link up which people can look at and see if they wish. RM5chris 1 down only 599 more to go.

I was at the scene shortly after it happened. LT 62 had just turned at Sloane Square so I cannot say for definite, but I imagine was running light back to SW. On another note, why was all the roads closed around bank?! No work was being done, and took 45 mins to get from St Pauls to Liverpool Street....A total joke.

RM5chris 1 down only 599 more to go. its not one, its two... because LT35 got its front sliced by the bollards. and yes TFL is paying for insurance on the NBFL's. update www.mayorwatch.co.uk/appeal-for-witnesses-after-new-bus-for-london-collides-with-traffic/201327312So they turned it to a crime scene because the NBFL got an injury. Scroll down to 2nd picture on the article. The whole thing can be rebuild. Even the Met police is calling the NBFL a Routemaster. Once DM garage is closed by First Group, its time that TFL turns the garage to a Wrightbus repair shop for the NBFL's which will save TFL on towing and boat fees to get it back to Ireland!

Once DM garage is closed by First Group, its time that TFL turns the garage to a Wrightbus repair shop for the NBFL's which will save TFL on towing and boat fees to get it back to Ireland! For goodness sake - it is not a crime scene. It is a site of road traffic investigation. It is normal procedure for Traffic Police to try to establish what happened with such a serious incident. Perhaps you might like to stop fretting about lumps of metal and remember that three people are in hospital and 12 others were injured? Buses are not human beings - they are just machines. They can be fixed or they can be scrapped - it hardly matters in the wider scheme of things. And please stop wittering on about DM garage. It is going to close in a few days. There is no reason for Wrightbus to turn it into a "NB4L hospital" - if buses have to go back to Ireland then they go back, other wise they're fixed in operators garages. I note that the bollard bashing LT35 isn't back in service yet which rather suggests the NB4L is unduly vulnerable to front end damage. I struggle to see how bashing a front panel takes over two months to fix.

Depends on whether or not the chassis is damaged. If so the bus may likely be written off.
