So they turned it to a crime scene because the NBFL got an injury. Scroll down to 2nd picture on the article. The whole thing can be rebuild. Even the Met police is calling the NBFL a Routemaster. No : it was because it was a nasty accident that hurt many people. Wouldn't have mattered whether it was an NBfL or any other bus... WHY 4 looks like a write off, extensive damage front and back. Suspect LT62 will be on a boat back to Ballymena to be put back together again ( I wonder if GAL will borrow one of LT 3-8 from Arriva for cover? ) The Enviro 400 (Abellio 9401) looks less damaged. Thoughts with the injured.

This tweet suggests that an NBfL on the 11 (gasp!) has been involved (rather caused) an accident at Chelsea - hopefully all are alright:
MODS MSG I don't think it wise that we speculate too much at this very early stage - you have put a link up which people can look at and see if they wish. RM5chris 1 down only 599 more to go. Oh never mid that people have been seriously injured eh? You just make stupid comments

MODS MSG
I am sure that member Late Again did not mean to trivialise or make light of those injured in this accident.
That said, I understand your point and I think it would be best if members could try not to turn this thread into another NB4L like/hate thread please. My colleagues and I in the moderation team will intervene and edit any such comments in this thread.

Thoughts with the injured. Not going to speculate on causes, hope the injured OK. Generally a bus dies about every 2-3 months, some due to accidents but mainly fire. Therefore over a 14 year life statistically 5-7 nb4ls will be destroyed. Don't know if repairable yet but it did manage few hours service. Better than one of the HVs which caught fire on a test run requiring a new chassis etc. (Effectively a replacement). Some parts would be undamaged and could be transferred.

Just to clarify, the road was closed for such a long time as there was a diesel spill and it damaged the road surface. It would automatically be a crime scene with 3 people seriously injured along with the claims the NBfL jumped a red light.
Lets stop the speculation now and wait for the investigation to reveal the reasons behind this accident.
Thank you.
