Click me3 bus crash involving a NBfL.... Discuss.... P.S... Gotta love the comments section at the bottom of the article and I do like the way the Daily Fail reports things.... It could have been any bus involved... The driver crashed the bus. It didn't crash itself!! It's a little bit irreverent that it was an LT

Is this the 1st crash for a nbfl? Nope, at least one more before - LT35(?) hit a bollard before. That (and now LT62) are at Wright for repairs.

WRONG ROUTE indeed : how do they expect the buses to return to Stockwell? Fly?

How long will the repair take? or are they going to scrap the LT62 and build a new one and name it LT62? Agree, re. the Daily Mail. WRONG ROUTE indeed : how do they expect the buses to return to Stockwell? Fly? Better wait in 150 years till they are able to provide that service... i.imgur.com/LZgVlCo.pngAnd yes they should provide parachutes when jumping off and parachuting down to ground by using their open platform. You think so? It was the ones that had the theme of "oh look what Boris had done now" or "we don't like these expensive buses" were the ones thy made me laugh Its just like the bendy bus. They blame it all on Ken Livingstone for the problems. But its actually down to the operators that run the vehicles. I don't get why people blame the Mayor for the faults which are not his problems?

Scrap it? ?? No chance. All it needs is a new front end. I've seen worse repaired.

So your telling me it's Metroline's fault that the 24's LT's were delivered with so many faults they had to be sent back to Wrightbus before even entering service & then after entering service, they were found to have even more faults. It's TfL & Wrightbus' fault for that. However, the LT62 incident is too early to throw out blame to any side until facts are established.

Its just like the bendy bus. They blame it all on Ken Livingstone for the problems. But its actually down to the operators that run the vehicles. I don't get why people blame the Mayor for the faults which are not his problems? Hang on a minute please. No one knows the exact cause of this incident. As the bus was brand new we have no idea whether there was a manufacturing defect on the bus rather than something the operator or driver could reasonably be accountable for. We also need to remember that Wrightbus themselves are (I believe) responsible for some of the maintenance on the NB4L and as these are new vehicles they are still under warranty. We MUST wait for an official response and then we will actually KNOW what happened and who is responsible. People blame politicians because they read nonsense written in the papers or believe the hype the politicians are more than delighted to associate themselves with. The NB4L is a Boris Johnson policy initiative and he has identified himself with the bus. He has done nothing to break the "Boris Bus" nickname. The problem with this sort of vanity nonsense is that the politician's name is linked with their initiative in good and bad times. The average person in the street has no idea whether Boris invented the bus, designed it, built it or whatever. Therefore they will associate the Mayor with the bus rightly or wrongly. You can hardly blame people for being misled. To be honest I do not recall people blaming Ken Livingstone for the fires on the bendy buses. It's pretty clear that is a design / maintenance issue with the Citaro's engine given that Citaros have burst into flames in many different places and at different times. The later link between Ken and bendy buses was part of a political campaign to discredit Ken and his regime. I am still waiting for someone to provide documentary evidence that Ken *instructed* TfL to introduce bendy buses - to date no one has ever produced it. It was TfL's decision to introduce bendy buses in order to increase capacity on very busy routes.

A remote chance that a diversion may have been in force at the time. Sometimes diversions can last as little as a minute via Centrecom broadcasts (I.e. a diversion broadcasted at the exact moment that the road has been cleared, therefore a second call would be made to "return to normal line of route").
