Spent another 5 minutes perusing this site and nothing that you've said about the 97 was there. So I'm going to naturally conclude it's too much forum for me today. And for you? londonbusroutes.net idnet.com (Timetable Graveyard) londonbuses.co.uk If you pull most of your info from these trusted sites, there should be no problem. It goes without saying the TfL website has trustworthy info albeit hard to access sometimes, and there's also LOTS bus magazine. I beg of you not to bring down the credulity of this site. Playing people for fools when they're not only has one outcome... Okay I'm sorry - will delete my original post, and will steer clear of that site. Btw I wasn't playing anyone for a fool, I stupidly, naively believed that site. Thank you You have been a member long enough to know Fandom sites are very inaccurate and used to have regular arguments with another member here about them. It doesn’t take too long to check beck on tender results especially as none have been announced for ages and also cross checking sites like Londonbusroites.net is the best source.

OmniCities do age better than ADL buses. Other than SP40113 who skipped refurbishment, they're all looking fab. The 08 reg which have all left this year were in a surprisingly good condition despite being some of the earlier examples. It’s a shock the E3’s SPs left so quickly. Had the H91 not needed hybrids amongst TFLs request the SPs would’ve moved over to HH then. It's not a shock - the E3 SP's were leased and clearly it made sense for RATP to remove stock that they don't own in favour of upgrading other routes. I really don't understand the problem with the H91 upgrading to VH's (and I say that as someone who really likes Scanias) especially when they were freed up to do other things and eventually ended up decking the H98.

Would have expected the H98 to be converted to VH as it was awarded a hybrid contract. But I did not know the E3’s SPs were leased, that makes sense they were withdrawn very quickly. The H91’s main problem of converting to VH was probably the fact that BT was nowhere near as capable as HH in terms of maintaining their SPs. Most people were very glad that the SPs left BT very quickly as their condition was awful in just a short period of time. But right now, best to leave the H91 VH/ADH as it can help other routes convert.

Whether BT had issues with the SP's or not, that wouldn't of come into play in regards to the H91 converting. The 79 was always due to receive those VH's back that was ordered against it's new contract.

It was awarded with 2010 year DLEs and subsequently upgraded to Double Deck using the ex H91/79 SPs.

Wow, how convenient that a large portion of the bus network suddenly needs £31m during the biggest financial struggle TfL has faced. I was never a fan of them and I hate how they made so many routes far more boring allocation wise however this really is the worst time to have them out of operation

I can imagine if the LTs will have to leave then the 111’s SPs will return for the time being to support other routes contracts. The H32 and H98 will definitely be in hot waters if the LTs are needed elsewhere. It also doesn’t surprise me the LTs have caused such a financial strain on TFL, they lost £43m every year from the back door. Now that the boarding issue has been ‘resolved’ it makes the idea of these buses pointless. Shame tbh

If the LTs are going to have to leave London amid refurbishment then I can see abellio diverting the 63’s batch of EVs (once ready) to the 159 until it can get the spares the 63 is using. It’s all a mess, we knew it from the start.

There are plenty of buses running in London that haven’t been refurbished, what I can see happening is buses are moved around as required so that the older LTs are withdrawn first or as other batches become unreliable. I can lots of patching up instead of full refurbishment much like the Central Line has had to suffer for years. I would be shocked if the 159 does not continue with LTs regardless of who wins the tender.

I think this whole LTs will have to come of road is utter rubbish. E58-61 up until recently (or maybe still) are running round in an un refurbished state dating from 2007 and the 432 uses buses from 2010 that haven't been done. The northern line used 1959 trains up till the late 90s with original seat maquette so I really think the LTs can do a few more years without having any work done.

To be fair E58-61 didn’t need to be refurbished as I don’t think they have been officially allocated to any routes since they left A and have merely filled some gaps.

But my point is they didn't fall apart or were dangerous to operate and I doubt passengers had any issues riding them.
