Anyone got any ideas? I am hoping for My Local Route 15? The next one to be unfortunately converted to LT is widely expected but not confirmed to be the 8.

I guess you're not a fan of these NBfl's then? I think they run better without a Conductor as they dwell a long time at stops.

Anyone got any ideas? I am hoping for My Local Route 15? Not sure if you already know, but the 148 was not long ago officially announced for conversion, due in mid-February. So far the trend of routes being converting are ones that mainly serve the old bus zone one. This may put routes like the 19, 88 and C2 as possible nominees. Stockwell's LT on route 11 interestingly include the 88 on their blindsets.

www.itv.com/news/london/2013-10-30/overcrowding-on-londons-buses-set-to-get-worse Having just read this maybe some of these routes should be converted to the New bus 208 and 185 maybe as that was the main reason for introducing the bus to make journeys faster and less crowded ? and as for the route 8 i would of thought that turn from Parnell Road in to Tredegar Road before the a12 would have been very tight for such a long bus saying that though having traveled on some essex routes lately you would be suprised at what a 12m vehicle let alone a 11.3m vehicle can get through .

I think they run better without a Conductor as they dwell a long time at stops. The dwell time is all the fuss of opening/closing the doors all the time. Operationally I think its flawed but I fully expect many of the next conversions not to have a "conductor" (Its already started by doing away with them on the 9 and 390 at weekends.

I thought NB4Ls can't go up hills? e.g 208 towards Bromley from Downham

I thought NB4Ls can't go up hills? I find that hard to believe as it doesn't make sense to spend all that money on a bus that can't climb hills. Doesn't the NB4L have a similar drive system to the E400H, which climb hills daily on the 3 and occasionally on the 196?

I've never noticed the 208 exceptionally crowded. The 96 only seems to get overcrowded at Bluewater at busy times. The 484 gets overcrowded because it cannot accomodate any larger buses as does the 336. The 162 needs a frequency increase. Seems just a bunch of routes plucked at random, apart from the 38 I don't think any are suitable for NB4L operation.

I don't travel in that part of London so wouldn't really know was just going by what routes ITV put up in that article and remember reading on here a few weeks back somewhere that 208's were always packed since they got rid of the overlap a couple years back , i do think some "outer-suburban" routes should get the NB4L as it was promoted in a lot of outer suburban areas like Romford and Bromley etc .

I thought NB4Ls can't go up hills? e.g 208 towards Bromley from Downham Can't go up hills? ?? They are poor up hills - I rode one up a hill while it was at this years Cobham Rally - very poor for a brand new bus, it was as bad as L1 was that day except L1 is nearly 30 years old! I know some won't believe me because of my views on the bus but I was with 'DW498' & 'Christopher' at the time who could back me up.
