Most unlikely I would think, not really the sort of route for three doors and two staircases. I disagree. I think it would be useful as the rear door area and the bag area by the driver could convert to luggage racks (as dashing0ne previously suggested) and it would reduce dwell times as there would be two doors. When I last used the X26 it was at New Malden for like 3 minutes as a wheelchair user needed to board via the front door. However the X26 doesn’t suffer from a dwell time issue as there are enough gaps between stops to build speed in. In fact in the school holidays it is fairly common to see X26 vehicles waiting up to 5 minutes or more at each stop. I still think the X26 would be better off with custom designed 12 metre triple axle TfL spec airport buses on its next tender.

That sounds like a very expensive conversion for possibly very little gain, makes far more sense to just order new buses with extra capacity and without three doors especially as it won't be stopping a lot throughout the entire journey.

The only benefit I could see of LT’s being converted for the X26 is that each staircase could operate a one way in-one way out system, with the front being used for entry and the rear used for exiting.

Yes I think last time Go Ahead found it was harder (and probably more expensive) then they thought to convert the WVLs to single door.

That reminded me of that BCI demonstrator that was running on the 12 👀 what's happened to that now?

12m buses would suit the route very well. Dwell time isn’t an issue. Could have space for luggage too or many seats downstairs. I support it.

It means it's not taxed at this time.

It means it's not taxed at this time. That’s a SORN, not a VOR.

Maybe AD could make use of some on the 102/329?

Maybe AD could make use of some on the 102/329? Not local but I feel like the 29 would have more of a chance than the 329, however 102 may work
