Surprised TfL haven't upgraded that stretch (bar the small section by the O2 Centre) as it's their responsiliblity rather than Camdens

Only one streetlight left on Pincott Road that still shines 'red into amber', its neighbouring post now updated to LED. It's sadly just a matter of time when that lamp will burn out for that 1960/70's unit to be replaced. These are similar streetlights that used to be along Haslemere Road and most of Phipps Bridge Road except those ones had longer necks and directly right angled with its posts.
Meanwhile at least one 80's concrete streetlight still works on Green Lane relatively near Rose Hill roundabout. There is at least one other further down the road towards Saint Helier Station but upon passing it wasn't yet dark enough for me to see whether it would still switch on. Both concretes have their newer counterparts.

That concrete column was originally installed by Wandsworth in the 50’s as the path was on the border between Wandsworth & Lambeth before a chunk of Wandsworth was incorporated into Lambeth (and Wandsworth absorbing all of the borough of Battersea in return) - picture here of said column for those not aware of what I’m talking about - flic.kr/p/RAoJqB

It's sad to hear that it will be removed but hopefully Lambeth will somehow forget to do that. There's another concrete one just off Valley Road near the Junction of Streatham Common North side, that street light actually working but with a timing fault in that it remains on during the day.

Alexandra Palace finally replaced all its old sodium lamps a couple of months ago.

Upon passing there last night that second concrete streetlight (that hadn't yet turned on) is working but surprisingly now has an energy saver lamp fitted, it's replacement counterpart still off at night with 'presumably' connective issues.

A video of 1977 Eltham, its main road then having quite identical fluorescent streetlights to what were along the 152 routing between Merton Garage and Raynes Park, baring the section around Wimbledon Chase Station which had streetight bodies identical to Tooting/Balham/Streatham but with different designed lamps at the tip (some posts having shorter necks). These fluorescents designs were also abundant around Morden Station, Rose Hill and Carshalton. vm.tiktok.com/ZGJpPYM2k/On a side note loving the vehicles of the era.

Lambeth had identical lights that were installed on many of the main roads in the 60's in the areas not originally part of Wandsworth borough and they lasted until the very late 70's when they were replaced by newer sodium fluorescent lights such as Philips MA's and Thorn Alpha 4's or even with non sodium examples in some cases like the very popular Thorn Alpha 8. The areas Lambeth were given from Wandsworth remained with Wandsworth concrete columns with different sodium fluorescent lights on until the 80's when a major scheme took place with many roads losing their examples and replaced with new steel columns, with main roads receiving mostly Thorn Alpha 8's but one or two early conversions received Thorn Alpha 4's, and side roads getting converted in the early 90's with Urbis ZX1's. Some roads in Streatham survived until the late 90's and even early 00's, notably Leigham Court Road and Sternhold Avenue which were some of the final roads to lose their Wandsworth concrete columns around 2000 whilst 1995 saw the A23 which still amazingly had concrete columns along Streatham Hill and parts of Streatham High Road, finally convert (I believe the A205 along part of Christchurch Road right down to Clapham South was also done at a similar time)

Blackshaw Road which only had the medium height streetlights kept all their posts at that stage, eventually replaced by full height posts identical to Wandsworth's main road variants. The first of Wandsworth borough's main road concretes I remember replaced were the formentioned Tooting High Street posts around 1984 (give or take), although the Battersea area ones may've at that stage had theirs replaced along streets such as Falcon Road. I remember well on the long white florescent lights at Stockwell which went as far south along the A24 as Clapham North tube, then eventually started again with the Merton borough versions from Merton High Street. The Brixton ones going southbound went as far south as Brixton Hill at the junction of New Park Road. There were also the Kensington and Chelsea versions which from a northound 19/45/49 bus started as it entered Beaufort Street from Battersea Bridge.

Meanwhile here in Harrow, there’s one gallant old Eleco GR535 on a 5m pole on the corner of a Clovelly Way and Lulworth Close still going strong. Always had a big liking for these and other red-into-orange glowing lanterns, ones by Eleco, GEC, REVO and Simplex.

In the Mitcham area we still have two unmodified red-into-amber streetlights on a cul-de-sac off Church Road that's also called Church Road. In the odd times where I happen to see one just switched on in that bright red stage always reminds me of the rest of the Phipps Bridge, Mitcham and Colliers Wood areas with the same design but now since modified or replaced. I still remember when they first appeared from as early as 1980 to replace the old concrete streetlights that are almost identical to the ones generally seen around the shop in 70's comedy Open All Hours.
