I don't think you're based too far from me judging by your Greenwich/Bexley biased post. Soooooo..... Get cracking on Crossrail 2, start investigating Crossrail 3 (NW - SE - pick any route). OK then : Aylesbury/Amersham-Marylebone-Victoria, then two branches : one taking on a Southern line towards Balham, another taking on the current Southeastern line to Orpington via Brixton, Kent House and Bromley South. Will that do? Straight along the line all stopping to Greenhithe, then fast to Ebbsfleet would be good enough for me. Still a most desirable idea. These lines are better off keeping full size trains. A Crossrail style link might be good, but no Bakerloo line to Hayes, Eltham or Dartford, thank you There are nicer ideas than this here, for me. Yes please. A nice bridge across the river, with four stations : Barking Reach north of the river, then Thamesmead Town, Thamesmead Boiler House and Abbey Wood. Preferably with the H&C line. Expensive, and probably too much duplication of Southeastern lines. Maybe pop something along the path of the Blackwall tunnel approach/A2 from North Greenwich to the Townley Road exit, then on viaduct to Bexleyheath town centre? Again expensive, but with far more potential for new rail based links than DLR to Erith/Crayford. --- As I said above The latter, please. It's built now, may as well make use of it. Yes, yes and not sure. --- I like the Boris Bike scheme, and I hope one day it will be pushed out southeastwards towards Peckham, Rotherhithe, New Cross and Greenwich. More cycle priority would be nice, but I have only so much time to type things! --- This would make many of the other plans, including Crossrail 2 and all our idealistic dreams unworkable, money losses would be substantial, without massive central government grant increases. Yeah, right... As above. If you're thinking of gaps in Greenwich/Bexley, how about a resurrection of the old 491 to Dartford from Belvedere, via Upper Belvedere, Northumberland Heath, Barnehurst and Crayford? I'd have it extended at both ends, to Abbey Wood and Bluewater. And of course those nasty North Londoners have nicked the 491 number, so it would have to be called something else lol Night buses are pretty quick anyway on the whole, not sure what would be gained by express night services. Re. express day routes, I miss the old 725/726 - one express outer London route for each corner of London (SE/SW/NW/NE), anyone? Yes! Good idea --- Long term, maybe. But in the current climate, this is a massive vote loser : which is sad for public transport supporters such as I. Most, yes : some would be unworkable to hand over (e.g. some of the fast services that call at Bromley South or East Croydon) There may be grounds to expand Oyster/rail fare zones to take in some towns currently served by TfL buses (eg Dartford, Swanley into a new zone 7), but I would leave it there. --- LOL

A couple of others I missed out on:
Begin a project on a complete rebuild of Brixton Railway Station - this would involve my earlier proposal of having a London Overground Station at Brixton by taking over the former Foot Locker building & converting into a station entrance - purchase Argos as well if necessary. The Overground & Southeastern stations would then be linked with a footbridge over Atlantic Road. As part of the rebuild, I'd also re-open the disused platform at Brixton to serve the Catford Loop - the station currently looks like a prison and is hardly welcoming to passengers. I'd also provide clear signage at all three stations (Underground, Overground & Southeastern) detailing whereabouts the other stations are and where trains go to from that station.
I'd keep the 1992 stock running on the Central Lane until 2032 but replace the Piccadilly & Nothern Line train stock within the next few years with the same stock that the Victoria Line currently uses
I'd also make sure every stock on each line has the revelant colour scheme for their interior based on the line's colour where possible - for example, Northern Line trains would have black handrails throughout with a moquette that compliments black, Piccadilly - Blue, Jubilee - Silver, etc.

In reply to your last point, if it wasn't for DDA regulations i'm assertive newer underground trains would have their own individual colour poles. In relation to the S7's it's operationally good they all retain yellow poles, Because just like bus blinds it aids fleet flexibility especially if a train is stabled away from it's home depot and could be scheduled to operate on a different line.

- I would increase capacity on bus routes that desperately need them, particularly on the suburbs with growing population. - Withdraw the Borismasters - Create new rail links from South East London to Central London, to relieve pressure from buses in that area - Reduce some fares, to make Transport more affordable - Ensure all buses that go out on a particular route are blinded - Increase capacity on the most busiest London Underground Lines - Widen roads in Waltham Forest and other main links in London, to make traffic more flowing

Hence why I said 'where possible' - I had the S7's in mind too. How strict are they on the Circle, Metropolitan, Hammersmith & City & the Districts Wimbledon to Edgware Road with fleet flexibility?

I agree there is a missed opportunity at Brixton but it is not easy to fix. The railway lines are a tangled mess and platforms are curved which is less than ideal. Building new curved platforms would not be popular as there would be stepping distance / level access issues. I wonder if the answer is not to try to partly straighten alignments and build a new station just to the east of Popes Road as there appears to be spare land there. It would still be expensive and the station would be further away from the tube but I suspect the prospect of all routes being served in one complex might just be enough to balance the extended walking distance. The existing platforms could be kept but the other routes could have their embankments widened or diverted in the new station site to give space for platforms. Construction would be difficult and disruption to rail services possibly quite extensive but you need plenty of room because of the likely massive demand for such a station.

Convert route N1 to using Hybrid buses although that can only be done if the route is fully moved to NX using E40Hs (from 436) or upon the new contract.
Build the bridge between Thamesmead and Beckton to reduce congestion at Blackwall Tunnel.

I know, what you said but regardless of your political position, I doubt it would be possible to modify the DDA act. -- Well the S8's are solely confined to operational use on the Metropolitan Line, as they're a carriage longer in comparison to the rest of the Sub Surface lines (SSL). -- Thus far the S7's operate fully on both the Circle & Hammersmith & City lines, The S7's operated on the metropolitan line, with a carriage inserted and where dubbed the S7+1, I don't know whether this is still in practise to date. The district line see's S Stock operation on the Edgware Road (Wimbleware) Branch only at the moment, as the line still has a full allocation of D78 stock.

...Thamesmead and Beckton... Ewwwwwwww...... I'd build three new tunnels, one from North Greenwich to Canary Wharf, one from North Greenwich to Canning Town, one new tunnel replacing the current Blackwall Tunnel. All tunnels much bigger than the BW Tunnel, with several lanes and enough height for DDs. And a new bridge replacing the Woolwich Ferry. I'm sure most of what I said has already been said.

Mostly yellow handrails, except around the doors, where they'd be pink, then have green based seat moquette. All three colours represented. Sorted

-- I would provide more social housing and speed up the process of potential people on london borough housing lists, I'd build on areas with vast amounts of space like the barking gateway development, especially as the construction industry has recovered significantly in comparison to the start of the recession.
-- Provide one tube/train line serving areas in South London, that have very poor transport links; Starting from Euston, Aldwych, Waterloo, Elephant & Castle, Camberwell Green, Peckham Rye, Lewisham, Eltham, Abbey Wood (interchange for Crossrail) & Bexleyheath
-- Provide more youth clubs to keep youths off the streets and entertained.
-- Provide more funding for improved accessibility at more NR Stations.
-- If their was more space to build, I'd expand the North circular road & Build a mid-south suburb circular, to ease the strain off of the existing A205. - The newly built mid south circular would be a minimum of two carriageways in either direction. - Hammersmith - North Greenwich.
-- Increase the frequency of the Woolwich Ferry and or as already suggested build an additional crossing.
