Merge the the 306 and 218. Okay. Or have the 306 running between Sands End and Acton High via current route to Acton Vale and route 218 to Acton High Street and the 218 running between Wembley and Hammersmith via the 440 to Acton High Street and current route to Hammersmith using double deckers. And withdraw the 440 between Central Middlesex Hospital and Wembley. And rerouted between Gypsy Corner and Acton via route 218 to link West Acton with Central Middlesex Hospital.

I think a 218/306 merger would be too long, the 306 suffers from terrible traffic around West Kensington so I think Sands End-Wembley would be too long. I've thought the 306 could go down Chiswick High Road given that corridor has lost capacity since the 27 was sadly cut back and it would help to relieve other routes along there. Fully agree with the second bit.

Fully agree with the second bit. If it was me (as it's in the fantasy section, it's not important anyway), I'd extend the 306 to Acton using the 70's old stand, switch the 440 back to it's old routing via West Acton and have the 218 run via the main road between Acton & North Acton and convert it to double decker. That way, there should be enough capacity south of Acton, the 306 is terminating at an important objective and the 440 can go back to concentrating on what it used to do, serving back roads.

So what you suggest is: - Route 218 & 440 swapping back routings - Route 440 is withdrawn between Central Middlesex Hospital & Wembley - Route 306 is either extended to Acton High Street (@cobo and vjaska) or it becomes a Hammersmith to Sands End route ( rif153 highlighted that the 306 does have traffic problems and stand space could be built on Hammersmith Bridge Road for the 306 as Hammersmith is rather full) - Route 218 is double decked So it would be: Route 218: Converted to Double Decker with buses from the 23 and swapping routings with the 440 in the Acton Area with a possible frequency increase. Route 306: Withdrawn between Acton Vale & Hammersmith and rerouted to Hammersmith Bridge Road to stand due to limited space in the bus station. Route 440: Withdrawn between Central Middlesex Hospital and Wembley and the Acton Routings are swapped with the 218 with the 440 also extended from Turnham Green Church to Acton Green. Route 94: Extended to Turnham Green Church: Possible extension to Route 218: Extended to Wembley Central via the 95 to Hanger Lane & Route 483 to Wembley. To help with the 95 & 483 loadings. Though, this could mean the route may become unreliable. So I will list this as possible.

I really doubt that this would work and traffic would take the p*** but make a new route called x89 or something like that and make a west-North London express route that starts from Holloway Nags head to Hayes & Harlington Station and on the weekends it goes to Ealing Broadway and it goes via Archway,Turnpike Lane Bus Station,Wood Green Station then it goes non stop to Brent Cross Via North Circular Road Then it serves Brent Cross Shopping Centre then goes to Tilling road,Staples Road then it goes non stop to Ealing Broadway via Hanger lane and if its the weekend/past 8pm it terminates there then it goes non stop to Southall Police station to serve Southall then Finally goes non stop again towards Hayes & Harlington Station and terminates there
btw this is a Fantasy Bus thread so its just a suggestion that i know may not work

Extended to Wembley via route 266 to Willesden Junction, 487 to Harlesden, 260 to Central Middlesex Hospital and 440 to Wembley. Converted to double deck operation. To maintain the link between Wembley and Acton and Central Middlesex Hospital, (although sending it via 95 to Hanger Lane, 483 to Wembley Stadium Station and 440 to Wembley Stadium is not a bad idea but the problem is that it misses Central Middlesex Hospital). 306: extended from Acton via route 207 to Acton and Acton Market Place. To link Acton and Fulham. (Although sending it to Turnham Green Isn’t a bad idea) 440: rerouted between Acton and Gypsy Corner via route 218 I.e via West Acton. Withdrawn between Central Middlesex Hospital and Wembley (or withdraw between Wembley Stadium Station and Wembley Stadium if the 218 was to go via the 95, 483 and 440 so that the link between Wembley and Acton via Central Middlesex Hospital is maintained).

I would advocate the 218 heading to Wembley via the current 440 routing to provide a handy Hammersmith-Wembley route and the lack of a Central Middlesex Hospital-Wembley link would be disgraceful. Minerva Road and Standard Road are a bit of a squeeze with single deckers though so I'm not sure if double deckers can get down those roads.

Route proposals for: Routes 24 and 452
Routes also affected by this proposal: Route 3
Proposal 1:
Route 24 towards Hampstead Heath (from Pimlico, Grosvenor Road) to be re-routed to instead go straight along Grosvenor Road, and then going via the 87 routeing to Westminster Stn/Parliament Square, then back to the LOR.
The additional bus stops served by the 24 would be as follows:
Vauxhall Bridge Road Tate Britain/Millbank Millenium Pier Lambeth Bridge Horseferry Road Abingdon Street LOR
This would cut running time by 10-20 minutes at most, depending on traffic conditions, and could also solve the "problematic" route that people like to call the 24
Upon the return trip, due to buses being on the wrong side of the road for the stand, the routeing has 2 options
For both options: From Westminster, go via route 87 once again up to Vauxhall Bridge Road.
Option 1: Continue straight along Grosvenor Road, R Claverton Street, L Lupus Street, onto the LOR Serving stops Claverton Street/Churchill Gardens and Pimlico Academy & Library
Option 2: Providing that a right turn onto Vauxhall Bridge Road is permitted, R Vauxhall Bridge Road, L Drummond Gate, A Bessborough Street, A Lupus Street (following routes 360 and C10) serving Pimlico Station then back to the LOR
Pros:
Connection between Hampstead Heath and Pimlico still maintained whilst potentially solving most of the routes "problems". Running time also cut significantly.
Cons:
Despite it cutting the running time, it's potentially taking a less used and less popular route. Lost link between Pimlico and Victoria Street (solved in Proposal 2) below
Proposal 2:
Route 452 to be re-routed to maintain lost links from the diverted Route 24, to terminate at: Whitehall, Horse Guards.
At the junction of Chelsea Bridge, L Grosvenor Road, then go via 24 routeing towards Victoria and Whitehall
Additional stops to be served by route 452 would be as follows:
Grosvenor Road Claverton Street/Churchill Gardens Alderney Street (towards Kensal Rise only) Winchester Street (towards Kensal Rise only) Westmoreland Terrrace (towards Kensal Rise only) Pimlico Academy & Library St George's Square/Pimlico Station Belgrave Road Warwick Way Victoria Station Westminster Cathedral Westminster City Hall St James's Park Station Westminster Abbey Westmisnter Stn/Parliament Square Horse Guards Parade (Terminus)
On the way back, also take the 24 routeing. Due to the prohibited right turn at the Chelsea Bridge Junction on the way back, the 452 would have to serve "Bull Ring Gate" alongside route 360, before returning to original LOR. Due to the nature of the roads, this could be a tight turn for a DD route, however, it is most certainly plausible and there wouldn't be any problems in doing so I recon.
Pros:
New link created between Kensal Rise and Whitehall. Lost 24 routeing maintained New crosslink to route N97? Currently crosslinked with route 328. Whitehall provides a perfect opportunity to implement such a crosslink with the N97 starting close by at Trafalgar Square.
Cons:
Route length could possibly be too long to account for the loss of the section between Chelsea Bridge and Vauxhall. Potential to become a "problematic" route. Lost link between Vauxhall and Kensal Rise (partially solved in Proposal 3 below) Pimlico overbussed with 2 DD routes (??)
Proposal 3:
New route 451 (single decker route) to run between Hyde Park Corner and Vauxhall via the 137 and 452 routeing. Contract to be given to either Abellio from QB or Go-Ahead from SW. In order to maintain partially lost link from diverted route 452.
To have a PVR of about 9-11 vehicles. Stand space can be provided opposite the Hilton Hotel, there's a small space there that can fit a small route of this nature, I believe it's currently a coach/bus parking spot, could likely be converted to a small stand.
Pros:
Partially lost link from diverted route 452 maintained, not the full route, but still possible for interchange onto route 452 at Sloane Square / Knightsbridge, for passengers wanting to continue towards Kensal Rise, and vice versa for route 452 passengers wanting to continue towards Vauxhall, they can interchange onto the new route 451.
Cons:
Unable to think of any, let me know if you have any cons for this.
Additional changes that may need to be made to accommodate these proposals:
To solve the issue of stand space at Whitehall and in order to make room for the 452 to subsequently move in, the 3 would have to suffer another cut, back to Lambeth Bridge or Kennington. Passengers would then need to suffice with the route 159 which would cover the cut, as this continues to Marble Arch via Whithall. The direct link would be lose, but same stop interchange is available at Kennington, likewise with all the other route changes.
