fantasy thread because who in their right mind would withdraw the 36 (me cus im an idiot idk why i even thought of thisđ) but i still wanted to post it because it took time
23: Hammersmith, Olympia, High Street Kensington, Knightsbridge, Hyde Park Corner, Victoria, Pimlico, Vauxhall, Oval, Camberwell Green
148: New Cross Gate, Queenâs Road Peckham, Camberwell Green, Elephant & Castle, Lambeth North, Westminster, Hyde Park Corner, Marble Arch, Lancaster Gate, Notting Hill Gate
414: Putney Bridge, Fulham Broadway, Chelsea, South Kensington, Knightsbridge, Harrods, Hyde Park Corner, Marble Arch, Edgware Road, Paddington, Westbourne, Ladbroke Grove, Westbourne Park
6: Willesden - Kensal Rise - Queenâs Park - Warwick Avenue - Edgware Road - Marble Arch - Hyde Park Corner - Victoria - Vauxhall - Battersea Power Station
426: Queenâs Park - Chippenham Road - Harrow Road - Royal Oak - Paddington - Edgware Road - Marble Arch - Hyde Park Corner - Green Park - Piccadilly Circus - Trafalgar Square
36: withdrawn and replaced by routes 23/148/426
too long to write in detail but these ideas involve routes 6, 23, 36, 148 and 414 and are mainly swapping ends to improve travel connections and a new route 426 which is involved with routes 6/36

Not the best of ideas

23 withdrawn between Westbourne Park and Hyde Park Corner. Extended to Piccadilly Circus via route 9.
414 withdrawn between Maida Hill and Marble Arch, and also between Knightsbridge and Putney Bridge. Extended to Chiswick Business Park via route 23 to Hammersmith and route 267 to Chiswick.
14 frequency increase.
Reasons: Provides a direct Chiswick to Kensington link. Still maintains the Hammersmith to Marble Arch link lost via route 23 Route 23 is rather long and a silly route as it is

72 withdrawn and 272 extended to Hammersmith Bridge via existing 72 (temporary whilst Hammersmith Bridge is closed). 272 and 72 to go back to their original routings once Hammersmith Bridge opens.
283 given a frequency increase to make up for the loss of the 72

New Route: E12 : Ealing Hospital Southall Norwood Green Tenteliw Lane Windmill Lane Osterley Tesco. Could extend to West Midd Hospital via Syon Lane Gives Norwood Green a service to both Tesco and Ealing Hospital and helps 120. Maybe not E12 others can suggest alternative

That was a different 23 - it was withdrawn in May 1985 when the 15 was restructured to operate via Tower of London. The current 23 began as a Westbourne Park-Liverpool Street route in July 1992, reviving the number as a replacement for the western section of the 15 which was cut back from Ladbroke Grove to Paddington.

Maybe not E12 others can suggest alternative Although this proposal sounds great and would extend the coverage of the London bus network, I think instead of Ealing Hospital, the route should perhaps start at Hayes By-Pass or The Grapes so that the proposed unique link that TfL bangs on about between Southall Broadway and Southall Station can be achieved with the E12 and the 427 can be left alone to continue to Acton. The Ealing Hospital - Southall Station link is already provided by the 195 and people who would like to go from Ealing Hospital and Hanwell to West Middx Hospital can walk and use the nearby E8. Also, this slightly different E12 routing would link Hayes to Osterley and West Middx Hospital for the first time.

Changes to the Uxbridge Road corridor if the 427 gets cut back to Southall
Option 1: Extend the 306 to Perivale Tesco via 207 to Ealing Broadway, 297 to Perivale, E5 to Perivale Tesco. To provide new links from Perivale to Acton. Cut back at the other end to Hammersmith.
218 extended to Fulham Sands End via existing 306
Option 2: Extend the 306 to Northolt station via 207 to Southall Broadway, 120 to Northolt station. Cut back to Hammersmith and 218 extended as per Option 1. To replace the link lost by 427
Note that these changes are a bit over-the-top so are unlikely to happen, which is why I suggested them here
