Is it all over yet? Good! Downside is that it kept all the vroom-vroom merchants quiet for a while! Now they will be back, treating buseses like F1 cars - in their dreams! ;D ;D ;D

Then put it in McLaren Livery and stick all of it's sponsors on, 17774 would enjoy that muchly.. Hmmm

Thank goodness that 3 year old didnt win!!!!! ;D Yep but a 4 year old with a big head did! Despite having only lead the championship once or twice throughout the year. But guess it is only today that really matters when it comes to be being in the lead. Actually, he only took the lead in the championship once this season; today To be fair to the kid he's been untouchable at the back end of the season. He's won three of the last four and would have won in Korea had his engine not gone kaboom. He made plenty of mistakes along the way but on the balance of the season, I think the right man probably won - he was the fastest man in the fastest car Alonso once again showed what a pathetic little specimen he is; gesturing towards Petrov was entirely unnecessary and showed what a poor loser the man is. I'm thankful that Ferrari's cheating in Hockenheim didn't prove decisive Mark Webber? The logical explanation is that he pulled a Massa and blew his best ever chance at the title. But there's part of me that suspects, as far as Red Bull are concerned, the right Red Bull driver won. Webber's tail off in form just doesn't correlate with his stunning performances earlier in the season, especially when one considers just how strong Vettel has been. I hope there have been no dark discussions at Red Bull, but there's that part of me that won't dismiss it out of hand Still, 2010 is now over. F1's greatest ever season? I'm saying yes

Wow, I've just found out something VERY interesting and probably makes me very boring!!
This is the final standing had last seasons points totals been used for races
Vettel - 104 Hamilton - 103 Alonso - 101 Webber - 94 Button - 87
More important, the same situation would have occured with the 4 drivers in it at the end, but it would have looked like this
Alonso - 99 Hamilton - 95 Vettel - 94 Webber - 93 Button - 81
Just goes to show how little, or alot, one change can make a difference to an outcome. However, it also shows just how tight this season was in comparison to others!!

Actually, he only took the lead in the championship once this season; today Think he lead for 1 weekend around the middle of the season, if I recall leading up to Silverstone.

Actually, he only took the lead in the championship once this season; today Think he lead for 1 weekend around the middle of the season, if I recall leading up to Silverstone. Afraid not Alonso led after Bahrain and Australia, Massa took over in Malaysia and then Button in China. Button held on through Spain, then Webber took over in Monaco. At this point, Webber and Vettel were tied on points, but Webber's Monaco GP win officially put him in first place and Vettel in second place. Webber stayed in front after Turkey then Hamilton took over after Canada. Hamilton stayed on top through Valencia, Britain and Germany before Webber got back on top in Hungary. Hamilton retook the lead after Belgium but Webber came back for Italy, Singapore and Japan. Alonso retook the lead in Korea and stayed on top right until a few hours when Vettel hit the top on his own, for the first time this season You have to give credit to the lad. Clearly someone gave him a good talking to after Spa because he's really been on it at the back end of the season. I always said that once he cuts out the mistakes he probably won't be stopped. And if Webber does remain with Red Bull next season I rather fear he'll be blown away if Vettel stays as focused as he has appeared over the past few races

Depends on weather you are talking airspeed or ground speed. I have been on a 747 that had a ground speed of about 1200km/h for a good part of the trip from Singapore to Melbourne. If I recall the block time was close to 6 hours. Reason for it was a massive massive tail wind across Australia.

I think it is a bit unfair to single out Vettel as a big head, I think all of the drivers are at times very self centered, arrogant, selfish and big headed - I think all of those attributes come with the job description of being an F1 Driver....
Whilst I support Lewis Hamilton and McLaren and would have preferred to have seen Webber take the title, I will say this for Vettel:-
For a big head, it was nice to see and hear his emotion at winning, it was nice over the season to see a driver that would regularly speak to Martin Brundle on the Grid (unlike others...) prior to the race start (as he did going into this final round) and again spoke to the BBC1 F1 team again upon his return to the garage amidst all the mayhem (looked like Eddie Jordan was gonna get a couple of black eyes from the other press) on the red button F1 Forum after the race.
What was ironic was that as part of the celebrations at the garage, they were playing AC/DC tunes - to the awesome 'TNT' Vettel even remarked ''AC/DC say it all'' - playing an Australian band to celebrate with - a dig at Webber?
