Sad to see that Jules Bianchi has been taken to hospital after he hit a JCB vehicle which was removing Sutil's Sauber. I hope he gets better soon #forzajules

I'll admit, that was a shocker! Also surprised Kvyat and not JEV got the promotion to replace Vettel. Whether the rumours about Alonso to McLaren etc turn out to be true or not, we'll see. Looking forward to the race tomorrow ☺ Alonso's my favourite driver. I wouldn't mind him going to McLaren, but I don't want Jenson or Button to leave. I predict Fernando will go to McLaren and Kevin will go to Torro Rosso.

It's been announced that Jules Bianchi will undergo another operation tomorrow due to bleeding. Very sad. Hope he gets well soon.
#KEEPFIGHTINGJULES #GETWELLSOONJULES
For those who don't know, here's what happened:
This morning's Japanese Grand Prix was affected by heavy rain. The race was red flagged after two laps and resumed half an hour later under the safety car. After around 5 laps the safety car came in and the race actually started. Conditions began to improve. Soon however, conditions began to deteriorate and around lap 45 out of 53 (I think) Adrian Sutil came off the track at 130R. The safety car came back out almost immediately and the recovery of Sutil's car began. However, this took longer than expected as he was slightly injured and dazed from the impact. Soon after, although the field was under the safety car, Jules Bianchi came off at the same turn and crashed into the recovery vehicle. It was quite a big impact. He was confirmed as unconscious as he was taken away. He was later operated on at a hospital. As I said above, he now has to undergo another operation tomorrow morning (Japan time) due to bleeding. Doctors say the next 24 hours will be critical.
This is truly a sad day for Formula 1. Even for non-fans who have never heard of 130R and don't know what a red flag is, there must be a bit of sadness there. If anyone is interested (unlikely) the race was red flagged with around 7 laps to go. The cars were brought into the pit lane. It was then decided the race would not resume for 3 reasons: 1) The vehicles of Sutil and Bianchi were still out and Bianchi was being attended to. 2) The rain wasn't getting any better. 3) Sundown was in around half an hour and visibility was already poor.

EDIT- it wasn't 130R, it was turn 7, idk why I said that. Also, it was lap 42 he crashed, not 45. Here's more info: mobile.formula1.com/news/headlines/2014/10/16448It was a head injury he suffered. Also, I might've made some other mistakes so better to go over that article for verification.

Also, former Formula 1 driver Andrea de Cesaris was killed today in a motorcycling accident in Italy. He wasn't very famous but it's still very sad. mobile.formula1.com/news/headlines/2014/10/16452Today's a very sad day for Formula 1 and motorsport, the last days like this were when Dan Wheldon in Indycar and Marco Simoncelli in Moto GP died. RIP both of them. On the bright side, no Formula 1 driver has been killed in a Grand Prix weekend since 1 May 1994 when Ayrton Senna died. Not that I want to bring that up.

No confirmation yet on where Vettel is going to next year I thought Ferrari was confirmed? That's what Christian (Horner) said, isn't it? Bianchi has now got Diffusal axonal injury following his crash. Hope he gets better. I think he definitely won't be in for the rest of the season Who's going to be replacing him? Also, it's sad he won't be racing at Sochi this year. Let's hope for next year. *Fingers Crossed*

I think you both need to be a bit more realistic about Jules Bianchi's condition. Diffuse Axonal Injury is just about the worst brain injury one could suffer - 90% of sufferers never wake up. A very fit, very healthy young man like Bianchi has more chance than most but chances are he will never make a full recovery let alone drive a racing car again I wish Jules Bianchi and his family and friends all the best but it's going to be a hellish journey for them Formula 1 does, of course, move on and there will be talk of a replacement for Jules at Marussia. In times gone by teams have tended to enter only one car after such accidents and I wouldn't be surprised to see this happen at Sochi. Eventually though I think Alexander Rossi will slot in at Marussia Interesting rumour doing the rounds concerning Lewis Hamilton signing for McLaren for next year to partner Kevin Magnussen. This would open up a Mercedes seat for Fernando Alonso. And yes, I'll be astonished if Sebastian Vettel isn't racing in red overalls next season

Interesting rumour doing the rounds concerning Lewis Hamilton signing for McLaren for next year to partner Kevin Magnussen. Lewis has denied this rumour on his instagram, as he said this "I have not spoken to ANYONE about my future and certainly not another team. I am committed 100% to Mercedes.

Hamilton wins in Russia and Mercedes have clinched the Constructors title I really wanted Nico to win. I really want him to win the championship. And well done to Mercedes for winning the constructors title- they totally deserve it.

Bernie's wanted a Vegas race for years. They actually had a race back in the early 1980s around the car park of Caesars Palace - it was not well received and F1 continued on its nomadic journey around America. I gather The Strip is central to these 'new' plans but surely, if they want the biggest benefit from racing in Vegas, they have to run the race at night? And that means a ridiculous time for the European audience and Bernie's TV deals are all geared towards the European audience - why do you think races in the East are being run at later local times?
Anyway, rather than Vegas can I just be an old fart and wish F1 had stayed at Watkins Glen? Brilliant track - although, to be fair, I'm a big fan of the Austin circuit
