There only hope this season is to have a good reliable engine or I cannot see them competing for serious results, given that Honda are only allowed to develop their power unit with the average number of tokens used by others in the pre-season.

It's not looking good for Force India. They missed the first test and are now on track to miss the second.
In other news, it looks as if Marussia could make a comeback.

Before I start on the actual on track action, I must say what has Monisha Kaltenborn done? Why would she sign Van Der Garde for 2015, only to then sign Ericcson for 2015. There is no point agreeing to the backing that Van Der Garde bought into the team if you are not going to race him. He's not got his superlicence to take part in this weekend. The court action resumes tomorrow and I fear this will have serious consequences for the whole team.
Now the track action. Not really a surprise to see Mercedes still out front. They can't lose the large gap they had in 4 months unless they did things seriously wrong. If their reliability is a lot better I can see them winning every race, the competition 'again' is for 3rd place but it looks like Ferrari have made a decent step forward. But cannot be certain yet with problems at Red Bull and Williams. It looks like Ricciardo has already lost a complete PU, and the Renault again is behind in straight line speed.
Still better than McLaren-Honda. Running 4 seconds off Mercedes pace and they have a big mountain to climb. The Power Unit still has many issues and if Manor don't take part don't be surprised if they're at the back of the grid. It also won't surprise me if neither car actually completes the race.
Honda have only 9 engine development tokens to use, which is the average number of tokens not used by rivals. Mercedes have 7, Ferrari have 10 and Renault 12.

Well no surprise there The first practice for the first race.............lets see what its like at the end of the season I think the gap will get smaller between the Mercs and rest of the field will get smaller but I generally still think that the Mercs will still be the time to beat at the end of the season.
