Waltham Forest uploaded details of the changes being made to Lea Bridge Road. The works starts July 2015 and are planned to finish in March 2017 Two pages have launched (with more to follow soon) Section A (near lea valley ice centre) and Section H Whipps Cross Roundabout (which is soon to be a T- Junction and pond!) The 339 will be able to serve Whipps X once these changes happen, however (maybe it's just me but) I see space for another bus (besides the 339) to terminate there. If there is another bus to terminate there I think it will come from the north (Snaresbrook Road/ Woodford New Road) or from the South East (Whipps Cross Road) I'm half and half with these changes, I think that WFC has identified a lot of problems and addressed them with good plans but the amount of time spent on red is going to be problem, there are so many traffic lights and stop lines. Phasing of traffic lights is the key to the success of these works.

There can often be three 56s lined up, 1 357 and if the 339 ever gets there then 1 bus for that. As so many routes pass that point then having one more free stand provides space for turns when required. Looking at the plan that uses up the stands that are visible.

"75 89 181 185 208 284 484 P4 - Revised at Lewisham to finish journeys in Loampit Vale, rather than the Police Station. (110815) - 16 June?" - londonbusroutes.net
I really don't know why they didn't do this in the first place. It makes so much more sense.

They may be doing that because the Police Station stops are slated for permanent closure. Of course, it helps hugely with interchange to the station.

First stops are currently outside the police station. It's a horrid place to interchange at the moment. I know - on both the points you make. However the longer term plan is something of a mixed blessing depending on where you want to catch a bus. No matter how you put it the stops near the Police Station are very busy (regardless of road works etc) and I can understand why locals are not happy about losing them. However the future road layout is not bus stop friendly and people will have to walk further and across far more junctions to catch a bus on the redesigned Molesworth St / near the station. It strikes me as another of those ridiculous schemes we keep getting in London where bus to bus interchange gets worse after each set of changes despite there being a shed load of evidence (i.e. just go and look) as to where people do change between routes.

A very interesting ting email today from TFL following a query of mine. I asked when routes will return to normal. Looks like the 7 will go back to Russell Square then. Wonder if VWH2023 will return to PA?

Wonder if VWH2023 will return to PA? It was interesting as in their previous responses they were always vague about the 7s return. I wonder why they've gone from being vague to reinstating most temporary cutbacks within those two months.

A very interesting ting email today from TFL following a query of mine. I asked when routes will return to normal. Aaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh !!!! The grammatical errors in that reply from TfL. Don't they ever check the stuff they send to the public? It's good of you to share the reply you received from TfL but I don't believe bits of it. I am sceptical that you'd have so many changes which are not on a Saturday and three different sets with days towards the end of October? *If* the roadworks come off then 31 October might be the end date for some of those. However I remain sceptical about routes 53 and 148 because they will be mired in the Elephant and Castle works for many months to come. Also how can the 15 revert to Regent St in September when the 3 is using the same stand space until the end of October? Does not compute.

I have the same skepticism and have replied asking for at least a year on the dates and more information. I don't see how the 8 went from October 2016 to October 2015 and how the 15 is making a return to Regent Street before the 3 gets a chance to move out. Can LTs even navigate to and from the Conduit Street stand?

Wonder if VWH2023 will return to PA? I hope it does, unless there's a hidden frequency reduction about to be implemented (which wouldn't be too unfair in reality). Even with VWH2005 back in use there are still quite a few odd workings on the route. Would Metroline have known about this beforehand?

I don't think the mentioning of the 15 is referring to the end of its Trafalgar Square curtailment. I pretty sure it's talking about it current Westbound diversion away from Tower Hill, which is meant to end on September 18th (source: londonbusroutes.net)
