I’m back on the bus forum. I had to delete the manlikechin1886 account as I needed a break from here. I’ve now made a new account LondonBuses184. Also I’m thinking that the buses for new route 304 have already arrived (the YX13 EHs) but are working on school route until Crossrail is open. The 304 will be using the buses that are currently on the 104! The 104 PVR drops to 12 when the 304 starts. The spare EHs and WHVs at DS are eventually for the school routes at RR as the older E400s are being withdrawn shortly.

Unless things have changed the 104 PVR drops by 6, whilst the 304 PVR is 9 The PVR for the 104 is 18 drops to 12 which is the 6 so yes might be short a few buses but sure they can find a few existing buses if needed for the 304. Could be wrong but think I read sometime back there are too many buses at RR for the 104 allocation but could be wrong.

25 and 53 aswell. Oh and they wonder why people don't use buses. The 53 was 74 mins in my 2001 Out and About guide from Plumstead Common to Oxo. Now 90 mins to Lambeth North. Hardly a realistic way to travel into town for most. I don't think many people would be doing end to end journeys on the 53, Plumstead to Waterloo is about half an hour on the train. At £4.80 off peak and £6.10 peak. I’d probably opt for the 53 over southeastern train.

Add the point SE and Thameslink are still running reduced services and have poor early am services, especially at weekends, equals more reasons the 53 is pretty busy still.

On top of that, the 53 is likely nearer to people’s houses than the train in the first place especially for those who are less able. It’s no wonder the 53 has a lot of demand from South East London to St Thomas Hospital

I've done Plumstead to Central London on the 53 numerous times, even Camden Town/PHF back in the day, but unless I particularly fancied a bus ride it would be the train for me off peak. Even peak times does anybody really want to spend nearly two hours extra on their daily commute just to save £3?

What might be just £3 to you can mean the difference between having a little bit extra to survive on that month and not.

Imagine if you are a low paid worker for example! I know in your ideal world everyone can work from home on a laptop but you need to realise there are plenty of other jobs that go unnoticed like cleaner, shop workers, back off support, catering the list goes on. Not everyone is as fortunate as you seem to come across with your views. A lot of the comments about the 53 apply to the 25 and the same reason people used use that route from Ilford to Oxford Circus.

I agree I ventured out on various night bus runs on n15 n9 n1's n8's amongst others and they were heaving with low paid workers heading into town to save money cleaners ands similar on minimum wage don't use trains if they can help it

See what I did there?😂 I only see his posts if someone replies to them. But yes of course there will always be exceptions but for many people time is money, extra childcare costs for example, and quite honestly spending an extra couple of hours commuting in order to save £3 doesn't sound like a great deal to me. I suspect a lot of early morning cleaners use night buses because there is no rail alternative at the time they start.

Yet again you accuse me of trolling when I am simply replying to posts who is trolling who here?
Sorry to other users for the constant disruption.

I’d probably opt for the 53 over southeastern train. I only ever do that trip if I have serious time on my hands. I recall doing that trip for the first time from Lower Marsh to Woolwich about 12 years ago. It was a Saturday and was an absolute nightmare due to traffic, took me about 2 hours. The 53 isn’t a bad shout in the very early morning or evenings though. Jokes aside, you make a very good point about the cost. These long distance links are essential for lower paid workers getting in and out of London cheaply and Uni students too.

And that right there guys is the reason why I left the forum in the first place. Coming from the person who accused me of trolling when I was just replying to posts and giving my thoughts and opinions. Now you know how I felt.
