I somewhat doubt they'll remove it even if it would be nice to see it removed (yes it does take up a lot of space) but I do think some tweaks in Central London are still necessary when it comes to standing arrangements and so I think it would be a good idea even to save 1 bus to cut the 274 back to use those freed up stands in Marble Arch.
On another note there should be a look into the 476 standing arrangement at King's Cross. The 73s are starting to pick up loadings wise once again by King's Cross (not uncommon to see full ones rock up to the station) but you tend to see empty 476s between King's Cross and Angel, something really should be done about that arrangement or just cut the route back to Angel altogether and leave it to mop up the crowds that build up on Islington High Street for the 73 and 476.
Having the 476 go via Pancras Way will inevitably make it more unreliable. Traffic phasing post cycle lane is generally too short for the amount of traffic there and the 63 in particular suffers heavily in punctuality as a result. I'm not against serving King's Cross Station properly, but don't be surprised if an extra bus needs to be added to the PVR. If that happens, then there'd be a good case to answer for not returning the 476 back to Euston in the first place. It was what was proposed when consulted on! More generally buses should be allowed down Pancras Road rather than Midland Road southbound as it’s usually less of a queue which would save the 46, 63 and 214 some time.

I would say leave it as it is. Too many buses standing at Marble Arch now. Yes, you usually have a bus standing on the first bus bay (stop K) on Oxford Street EB as a result despite not being a formal stand.

TfL have changed the 85 change. It's now
24-hour route 85 will have a new timetable on all days of the week with journey times revised to better reflect current traffic levels. Buses will now run every 10 minutes during both the daytime and evening on all days of the week. The night service will continue to run every 30 minutes on all nights of the week.

From Saturday 29 June, Route 211 will be changed to run from Hammersmith Upper Bus Station to Battersea Power Station via Charing Cross Hospital, Fulham Broadway, King's Road, Sloane Square and Chelsea Bridge. Route 77 will now start and finish on the Upper Taxi Road at Waterloo Station. . Never knew TfL distinguished Hammersmith as Upper and Lower as destinations. Are we going to get 211 blinded as such and ibus as such. Historically buses just display “Hammersmith” or “Hammersmith Bus Station” if lucky. No distinction between upper and lower.

Usually just "Hammersmith" these days as TfL has tried to move away from qualifying points. As the two bus stations are effectively on the same site it shouldn't matter. Green Line coaches used to be the most descriptive of the old arrangements serving "Hammersmith - Butterwick Bus Station" when that was the only one there was; red buses still displayed Hammersmith, or Hammersmith Bdy, at the time.

Changes to buses from Saturday 6 July 2024Route extended: 281 (from Tolworth Broadway to Tolworth Station via Tolworth Roundabout)
Minor changes to times: 371, K5, N65
Temporary timetable introduced: 65, 371, E8
Extra buses at weekends (past Mayfield Lavender Farm): 166
Also "Route 388 will have two additional journeys introduced on all days of the week at 2404 and 2416 from Stratford City Bus Station to London Bridge Bus Station." (which is taking the 24 hour clock to new extremes)

I thought the 281 extension was earmarked for the autumn I believe it was, but the stand (except for the bus stop flag) and driver toilet have been ready for months and the roundabout works finished last month, so it makes sense for the extension to go ahead earlier than planned. It also means the extension coincides with the start of the 281s new contract, which has a +2 on the PVR.

Route 281 extended from Saturday 6 July 2024
From Saturday 6 July 24 hour route 281 will be extended from Tolworth Broadway to Tolworth Station via Tolworth Roundabout.
Towards Tolworth Station buses will be extended from Tolworth Broadway via Tolworth Roundabout, Hook Rise South, Toby Way and Lansdowne Close to terminate at a new bus terminus next to Tolworth Station.
Towards Hounslow buses will pick up from the new bus terminus next to Tolworth Station then run via Kingston Road, Tolworth Roundabout and Tolworth Broadway, serving bus stop G, to Ewell Road. Bus stops E and K on Ewell Road will no longer be served.
Route 281 will continue to run every 10 minutes during the daytime on Monday to Saturdays and every 12 minutes during the evening and all day on Sundays. The night service will continue to run every 30 minutes on all nights of the week.

Is the +2 to help ensure that the buses actually get as far as Tolworth Broadway in the first place? So many short turns at present.

Probably. 1 is likely for the extension as it is not that long and the other for reliability. Also, TfL want the extension to be successful. I think the same is with the W12. No way it needs 14 buses to run a 15 minute service but TfL are being very safe because they want it to be successful and reliable and the extra couple or so is to mitigate disaster due to the impact of the bridge closure near Woodford which currently has made 275 and W14 inferior services.

Yes and no.
TfL would be far from the only operator to adopt a system of adding the hours to the previous day when the service / duty involved is a part of that and then breaks for the night. It can also be a feature of some software.
I quickly learned (in Australia) that some shifts I was required to work ended as late as 26.30 (02.30) but that booking on after midnight which counted as the next day would be at 00.01 not 24.01. Rates of pay were adjusted accordingly; if you started on a Friday and finished at 26.30 (Saturday morning) you were paid standard rate throughout. If you booked on at 00.01 Saturday you were paid Saturday rate .....
