I would agree and that section definitely needs support This is one instance where having garage at the other end (bexleyheath) is unhelpful. During peaks multiple buses get turned at sun-in-the-sands (3 in the morning peak, 3 in the evening peak was common) so leaves the section which needs most capacity with less buses further exacerbating the situation Yes I've seen quite a few Sun in the Sands turns at peak times and I can't help thinking the 132 would be better operated from MG, Bexley Village turns probably wouldn't matter too much. An immediate solution would be peak hour extras between NG and Eltham. I now go to office a bit earlier so can’t confirm what the latest is; but when I used to leave at ~9am, there used to be 3 Sun-in-the-Sands shorts (at least) every morning and 3 in the evening peak. Was a disaster to say the least

This mostly happens during the peaks. I had the experience of waiting nearly over an hour at North Greenwich for a 188 last month in which none turned up because they were all being curtailed at Greenwich. Though I must say the route's operation was much better under Q. Id say it is the same on the other end too tbh. The 188 turns to Waterloo, The Old Vic, Waterloo Station or Holborn Station are far too many.

It's only the North Greenwich end of the 132 that needs a frequency increase, the Bexleyheath end of the route is pretty quiet. Peak hour short workings between North Greenwich and Eltham would be the obvious solution and the ex Red Arrow SEe's would be ideal, they could be operated from MG if it's being electrified. Could the 161 perhaps divert to run direct between North Greenwich and Eltham (following the 132)? Then extend the 126 from Eltham to Woolwich (with a DD conversion), the 180/472 might be adequate between North Greenwich and Woolwich. Or alternatively could reroute the SL4 to serve both North Greenwich and Eltham, rather than via Blackheath? A complex solution to a less complex problem. The 132 benefits and sometimes suffers from the fast section along the A102. During peaks the section between Blackfen and Bexley can also be hit hard by traffic. I would favour extending the 335 to Eltham as a better way to add support to the 132. The 335 is better suited as it avoids the A102 and it’s shorter so has less reliability issues. If stand space could be found, extending the 335 beyond Kidbrooke to Eltham High Street via Westhorne Ave and Eltham Station would provide some cover for the 132 through Eltham and provide some new local around the corner links.

Interestingly bus loading data released by TfL for Nov 2023 has the average loading (as a percentage of total capacity) for the 132 towards North Greenwich at 56% during the hour starting at 7am. This occurred at the Wricklemarsh Road stop.
This is apparently the busiest hour of the morning peak towards North Greenwich, which is measured as any 60 minute period within the morning peak from fixed quarter hour start times (00, 15, 30, 45).
Would be interesting to compare these official figures which are from a computer model with your lived experience. Some buses within each hour may be busier than others and therefore the hourly average figure would underplay the most crowded journeys.

Before people comment, I would move this combo to another thread. I am not sure what this data is but I know there was occupancy data coming and after a quick search it looks like something was published earlier this month. crowding.data.tfl.gov.uk/ under BUSTO Not sure if previously discussed or on another thread but definitely something to discuss elsewhere.

I use / pass through that stop on a daily basis so can vouch that 56% is an understatement. Clearly things have changed since Nov 2023 Now admittedly I have done 7am only once in the past few months but the one time I did, I was standing by the driver’s seat, and we didn’t stop to pick up anyone else I use it regularly between 8-8:30 though. The one pattern I have picked up is that 2 buses are usually very close (less than 4 min); usually the ones at 8:13 and 8:17 at wricklemarsh road (last stop before the express section) but at times can vary. One of these buses tends to be rammed with school kids and you end up standing against the door. The other is just about manageable. Most other buses, I tend to grab the last available seat on the upper deck or end up standing I used to go to office much later in the day earlier, plus used to be more wfh. One of the annoying things which used to happen (I can’t vouch for this now) was that every morning and evening, 3 132s would turn at Shooter’s Hill sun-in-the-sands. This was especially prevalent between 9-10am and 6-7pm Clearly would be interesting to see more recent data, am sure numbers would be much higher The 335 is relatively emptier but gets packed on the common stretch with the 108. Probably one of the best additions to the network in recent years

Though I must say the route's operation was much better under Q. Wouldn't be surprised if the 188 moves back to Q again for the new contract (or NX), as part of a reshuffle to fit the 99/269/401 at BX That would presumably involve route 89 reallocated from BX back to NX.

Since the 259/N279 garage transfers didn’t happen yesterday, is there a new date for the moves to take place?I believe the 259 will move next week, as the 19/N19 will move next weekend.

Looks like the 310, from Golders Green to Stamford Hill will begin on the 31st August. It will run for initially 12 months according to a my London article and during that time it will be out to consultation.
Update: Stagecoach have won it with 8 existing SDs.

For the record, I've linked the page that TfL posted detailing the 310 trial below.
