Was in Loughton High Road today. Saw a 20 that was heading as far as Leyton Green. Hope the Walthamstow Bus Station closure doesn’t cause any chaos!

33 off-peak is every 8 minutes now. The subtle drop to 8 - 9 may be related to traffic conditions without change to PVR. Off-peak traffic through Richmond can cause lengthy delays. In peak hours it's along most of the route from Barnes Common to Twickenham but the running time allows for that to the extent it can. Demand against capacity isn't an issue but 'deckers would be very much appreciated by many users. That would address the school-time overloads currently experienced where several successive trips can fill up and leave large numbers behind down the road.

It's do to do with 20mph zones along the route as opposed to traffic.

Was in Loughton High Road today. Saw a 20 that was heading as far as Leyton Green. Hope the Walthamstow Bus Station closure doesn’t cause any chaos! To give some credit, the traffic lights in the bus station have been amended so they dont turn green. However, the next set of lights at the Hoe Street junction should have been amended too as traffic from Selborne Road (with the many additional buses) cant get passed the station lights because the Hoe Street lights are red causing traffic all the way back to South Grove impacting 158s trying to mind their own business. Hopefully someone makes that adjustment in the next day or two. The main passengers impacted would be 58 and saw a few waiting around but I am sure they will eventually know what the issue is and more importantly how long it will be. For some odd reason the bus subway to the tube is open.

Robert Munster reporting some frequency changes from 9th November: 33 Evening and Sunday frequency increased to x12mins. Mon-Sat daytime frequency decreased to x8-9mins. 176 Evening and Sunday frequency increased to x10mins. Excellent news in the evenings for the Soho/Leicester Square/Chinatown crowds for the 176. Far from uncommon to get standing pretty much up to the front door on busy evenings.

Thought I’d give a quick breakdown of the temporary bus changes in place while Walthamstow Bus Station is closed:
Routes 34, 55, 69, 215, SL1, SL2, N38 & N73 will terminate at bus stop X outside the bus station. Routes 230, 275, W12, W15 & W19 will also serve this stop.
Route 34 towards Barnet Church, route SL1 towards North Finchley, route SL2 towards North Woolwich, route N38 towards Victoria & route N73 towards Oxford Circus will commence journeys from bus stop N on Selborne Road. Routes 230, 275, W12, W15 & W19 will also serve this stop.
Route 215 towards Lea Valley Camp Site will commence journeys from bus stop P on Selborne Road.
Route 55 towards Oxford Circus & route 69 towards Canning Town will commence journeys from bus stop V on Hoe Street.
Routes 20 & 257 will start/finish at Leyton Green at the “Leyton Green Road” bus stop. Journeys towards Debden & Stratford will start from bus stop EH on Lea Bridge Road (“Lea Bridge Road/Bakers Arms”). Change to routes 55, 69, 97, 357, W12, W15 or W19 to complete your journey.
Route 58 will start/finish at Markhouse Corner at the stops Leyton, Church Road/Gloucester Road near Lea Bridge Library. Use route 158 to travel towards Markhouse Road. For Walthamstow Central, use routes 69 or 97 instead.
Route 212 will terminate at bus stop M in Walthamstow and will not serve St James Street. Use route 275 instead. Journeys towards Chingford will start at bus stop S on Church Hill.
Route W11 will start/finish at Walthamstow Market at bus stop T on Mission Grove. Change to routes W12 or W15 for Walthamstow Central.
Route W12 towards Woodford Bridge will serve bus stop L at Walthamstow Market instead of bus stop T.
Route N26 will be diverted direct via Hoe Street in both directions. Use the stops at Walthamstow Market or Walthamstow Central Station (both located on Hoe Street) to board your bus.
Routes 97 & 357 are unaffected.
Bus stop R outside the Bus Station will also be closed during the works.

It’s a bit of a special case in the evenings after 9pm, with a lot of long distance riders from the West End to beyond Denmark Hill often causing waiting passengers to be denied access to the service. Sunday, definitely lots of evidence of it being at capacity not just during shopping hours but evenings too.

'To meet current and expected demand Route 192 (Tottenham Hale Station to Enfield Town) buses will operate every 12 minutes instead of every 15 minutes after 19:30 on all evenings of the week from Saturday 9 November. There is no change to the frequency at any other time.' Did you get an email about it? The Sunday daytime and evening frequency is currently x15mins! Surely the Sunday daytime frequency must be being increased too? That one got increased to x12 during Sunday shopping hours a few years back on Sundays, again was reviewed and absolutely needed it!

It's good to see a Central-Inner London route bucking the trend and being enhanced to meet demand, rather than cut back due to lower post-covid use.

Perhaps the Bus Action Plan?

Even in the pre-Covid era, the 176 would easily fill up by Waterloo after 9pm and the 5bph on Sundays was clearly not enough. EDIT: Just to add, I was on the 176 at Camberwell Green on Boxing Day with the old Sunday timetable and it was rammed throughout going down to Penge.
