I sometimes wonder, perhaps the 'cool' air being blown out of the LTs is ambient temperature air? It was relatively fresher recently so maybe the cool air is just an illusion? Aside from the obvious experience on hot days I can't recall any LT blowing out cool air on a cool evening/night. I started thinking about it when I was on LT84 on the 10 today which was blowing out lukewarm air, as opposed to the Gemini 2 and E40D I was on today which were blowing out cool air, the latter certainly enabled for a chilly journey as it was in the evening but I wasn't complaining! On Saturday, I had terrible luck with hot buses. No LT's but a Enviro 400, MMC, and a number of Enviro 200's all were boiling. Shockingly, a ALX400 Trident as the coolest bus with a nice breeze circulating through with a B9TL & a Omnidekka also faring well. I found a VLE and 56-reg SP to be the worst last week, neither of which surprise me. Others that I know can be terrible in hot weather are ALX400s and Presidents, but Geminis, E400s, other SP's and virtually all single deckers are usually better. Not sure what LTs are like. Although anything will be very hot if sitting right next to the engine! ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) .

Oh dear only 15 questions to the Mayor about excessive temperatures on the NB4L for July's MQT plus other questions about the level of conductor presence on routes and the level of passenger fraud. One AM has suggested that the NB4Ls be equipped with internal thermometers and that warning notices be provided to passengers about health risks. ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) PS - this does not mean I have an "agenda". It just means I have reported what is in the list of July's Mayor's Questions. Just to be 100% clear. ![::)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/eyesroll.png)

Well as a person who used to take those buses on a daily basis and who still takes them regularly, they do have working air con. There was once when the air con wasn't working but I've been on that same bus several times before and after and those other times it was working fine, so I think it is a matter of being unlucky. Seems I've been really 'lucky' today. I have ridden on LT64 on the 11, LT422 and LT454 on the 12, LT33 on the 24, LT491 and LT538 on the 73, LT122, LT139 and LT144 on the 148 and they were all absolutely fine with plenty of cool air coming through the vents, yes some were a bit hot on the lower deck but no more so than any other type of bus. I suspect that I haven't been lucky at all and that is the norm and the only hot air on this subject has come from the regular complainants who clearly have a hidden agenda? Can you predict the lottery numbers? Seeing as, luck and all.

Some people on here clearly have an anti Boris agenda and will stick the boot into him at any opportunity. It would be nice to have a bit more informed comment on what is supposed to be a transport forum.

I've never called you a liar, just lucky - what you said in your previous post sounded much like everyone with the opposite opinion is making it up. I'd love to find a LT with working air cooling but so far have failed to find one over a number of routes - until then, it's understandable to have doubts.

Well I can only comment on my own experiences, I posted details of the nine LT's that I rode on one day a week or two back and they all seemed fine to me and I didn't hear any other passengers complaining either. I've no doubt that there are some defective ones just as there are amongst other types of buses.

This would appy to ANY bus not just a LT.

And now some Mayor's Answers on our favourite topic of temperature inside NB4Ls. There does seem to be yet more movement and more trials from TfL. I have posted this without comment so people can see what is being asked and what TfL are doing. This should therefore remain within the rules and no one should feel the need to complain. If people do have a complaint then they should contact the Mayor and / or the named Assembly members rather than shooting the messenger! ![::)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/eyesroll.png)

Didn't use an LT today, but went on Arriva's T322 on the 229, which was cool, Stagecoach 12353 on the 472 which was also cool, and Stagecoach 12338 on the 99 which was a mobile oven...
