Make a note on your calendars, as from 16 November TFL will consult on proposals to routes 108 and 129, and new route X239. There are no proposals for the 108 within this consultation

Maybe this could be one of the reason for the delay in tender results for routes 108 and 129. It has been suggested that the buses that past through the Slivertown tunnel will have to be zero emission vehicles. Makes me wonder if route 108 will have a double deck conversion however there is an bridge issue at the Stratford International end of the route. According to the linked article, the 108 will continue on it's current routing including through the Blackwall Tunnel

Unfortunately the announcement states that the 108 will continue to use the old tunnel and will therefore have to remain single deck.

Another route along North Woolwich road to City Airport? TfL are really over bussing the Custom House and Silvertown area without much thought or better links.

I’m disappointed at the lack of deep connections north of the river. Would be good to have something like the 69 extended to North Greenwich or Charlton.
This seems like a big scale back from initial proposals. I was at the O2 last Saturday and departing buses were very busy at around 8pm. I’ve seen a lot more packed out buses these days…seems like bus travel is set to return to pre-covid levels, which makes scale backs seem a little premature.

There’s so much gentrification in East London with all the fancy riverside nonsense - not sure why TfL love sending buses all around these areas which end up being lightly used.

Most buses at North Greenwich are heavily used. It is a busy station - don’t forget it’s in zone 2 and is the closest to a very substantial chunk of Greenwich / Charlton / Blackheath etc. these people are not going to disappear onto the Elizabeth line

I was thinking the proposed shortening of the D3 may hint a potential extension to south of the River, but seems it's not on the cards. I still think the D3 in its current form, with an extension from Leamouth to somewhere like Charlton or Blackheath, will give better connections.

According to the londoner FB page 15th Novembet is the day the consultation will launch.
It mentions the 129 being extended to Beckton Bus Station. Cant believe another route can be fitted into Beckton Bus Station and even more so fitting another into Grove Park. I was under the impression the stand was completely full.
It would seem the X part of the X239 is going to be a fast section either side and through the tunnel as opposed to a limit stop route.

I thought City Airport was bad enough but another bus to Beckton is a joke! Can’t is Newham residents go anywhere apart from East Ham and Beckton. I can’t see the FB post.

It's been mentioned in the article the 129 will go to Great Eastern Quays east of Beckton. There's a diagram showing it's routing. Whilst yes it will pass Beckton bus station.

The new housing development now underway on the north side of the DLR at Silvertown may make the extra buses necessary. With the excellent rail links I am a bit doubtful there many extra passenger journeys will be generated but could be wrong.
