My solution to the Irish border 'problem' would be to remove the border altogether, by the simple expedient of announcing that, as part of Brexit, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland would cease to exist on 29th March 2019 too, with Great Britain going it alone. I'm sure that in a referendum a whopping majority would vote for N.I. to stand on its own two feet, which would save the average taxpayer in England a hefty amount every year used to subsidise that place. Whether the people of Northern Ireland chose to integrate with the south or try to be independent would be up to them, and no longer a British problem. Although a majority of Northern Ireland constituencies voted Remain, including all border and Sinn Fein constituencies, a majority of consituencies still vote for the Democratic Unionist Party in last year's General Election. I understand that, under the terms of the Good Friday Agreement in 1998, Ireland can only reunite if there is a referendum, often called a Border Poll, affirming willingness on both sides of the border.

The political iBus screen will show "*" for quite some time... I think it's going to go to Deadlock... The Brex Factor is on Saturday Night for the Public Vote thank goodness. 1. Remain - leave things as they are, leave the Xenophobia and dreams of a fantastic post Brexit trade empire behind, and this can be no more embarrassing than what we've seen in the past 48 hours 2. Chequers or May's Brexit Fudge that the EU has agreed to (with leaving the back door open in Ireland, car unlocked with fob on the seat on the driveway for free movement etc / BRINO ) 3. No Deal Plus - this option is in 'The National Interest' to 'Take Back Control' and respect 'The Will of The People' which will allow a free deal with the EU, no more sending money to them, and fantastic trade deals with the US, a better NHS, blue Passports, a Brexit Festival (in conjunction with Crossrail opening in 2222) and recognition from all on the world stage Watching them all fight like cats in a sack has been amusing, I am surprised no removal van has been booked for Theresa yet

The Cabinet lost the vote today...in for some fun times If the EU had negotiated a trade deal concurrently ... Then we would probably not be in this shambolic position ... But Tusk and Junker know best .... Brexit was never going to be a success given such restrictions and the diverse requirements of the opposing sides ... and we still want to be part of the EU!!!!

The Cabinet lost the vote today...in for some fun times It was reported as being the most severe defeat for a government of all-time. Even a defeat in 1924 was only by 166 votes, compared to 230 this time. By way of some trivia, the outcome was 202 in favour and 432 against. In London bus routes 202 & 432 are both run by the same operator and both intersect - both GA serving Crystal Palace!

What will be chosen, continuity and common sense, or nostalgia and xenophobia?

What will be chosen, continuity and common sense, or nostalgia and xenophobia? Hard to predict, but the least unlikely would be a finely-worded mild compromise deal in time not for March but for July 2nd when the new European Parliament following elections on May 23rd - 26th (from which we would be excluded) sits for the first time.

A predecessor of the 432, the 186, used to then travel over part of what is now the 202 as far as Sydenham: make of that what you will.

Never knew we had a 186 down here (I knew there was a 184 & 189) so decided to look it up - it didn't last long, was extended over today's 2 in 1957 and was withdrawn entirely including over the current 202 in 1964, replaced by the 2B & 122. So thanks for teaching me something new

So thanks for teaching me something new There used to be a 274 in Ealing years ago I remember the 68A, forerunner of the 468 using Olympians and Metrobuses (the Ls used to struggle up Knights Hill) but my knowledge of south London bus route history is poor... Looks like No Deal has been slowly taken apart like the ex 403 DWs in Edmonton garage something tells me Brexit may not happen as the clock is still being run down as both sides stall for time...

Watching Theresa May struggle like a Tottenham DW with choked Adblue Injectors... the 'losing voice' thing only works once, no sympathy this time... Did she pack a coat when she ran off to Strasbourg last night to beg? Perhaps it's a nasty cold she caught
