I know some people will want to allocate the 62 with Borisbuses after looking at this thread, but I was quite surprised there wasn't a thread for this IMO the group stages were not very interesting, you generally had terrible defeats or draws with the occasional interesting match. England could have played far better than they have in the previous matches. Portugal were being a two man team for most of the tournament, leading to immense pressure on Ronaldo to make the team succeed. Germany and Poland are the only two teams left which haven't had a loss so far if I remember correctly. Iceland have been quite surprising so far, they sure have exceeded my expectations.

The Portugal 3-3 draw was the game of the tournament so far. There has been some good goals. I hope Iceland don't cause England problems but they done pretty well so far.

I heard about that match, but didn't get to watch it sadly as I had other things to do. As well as England, I do wonder how favourites Spain and Germany will perform in their upcoming games.

Don't even think about Borismasters on the 62, it's bad enough they keep visiting Barking on rail replacements l To be honest, I haven't kept up with Euro 2016. The England team frustrate me, they play so well for their clubs then as soon as they put on an England shirt they treat the ball like Superman treats kryptonite. I pulled out Northern Ireland in one of the sweepstakes at work- safe to say I won't be seeing that tenner againn

Spain don't look the side they have been over previous uses but then again they have changed a lot of players since their last euros and World Cup so they are a team in transition. The same could be said about Germany but they consistently produce good players from their conveyor belts. Spain drawing Italy looks like the match or death. Germany should beat Slovakia. I'm looking to England VS Iceland in the next round for obvious patriotic reasons as well as Spain Italy and Croatia VS Portugal. I did put a cheeky tenner on Northern Ireland to reach the final. Did the same with Republic of Ireland. I know it's a long shot but I stand to win a lot of money if they do!

Although I'm English, I don't bother supporting them simply because they never learn from their mistakes. Every tournament, they start giving it the bertie biggin about how they going to win it and thinking that they are this world class team when really they are just a bunch of average players who are really overrated. What happened to Hodgson picking people on form rather than reputation? By my reckoning, Rooney, Wilshere & Sterling shouldn't be there and Townsend, Noble & Drinkwater should instead seeing as they were in all in form and playing consistently well. Also, who takes just three centre backs to a major tournament? Yes, Dier can play centre back as well but I don't think he's good enough there TBH. Honestly, the sooner England are out, the better! Good job I come from other countries - come on Republic of Ireland & Poland.
My pre tournament pick was France to win and I'm sticking to that - they're not playing well but are still picking up results and their defence looks a little bit more composed compared to Germany or Spain. Italy & Germany will go close as well personally.

Every since RVP and co thrashed Spain at Brazil 2014, they haven't looked great since and I see Italy beating them TBH. The lack of decent striker doesn't do Spain many favours either.

England have no decent centre backs and I'm glad someone agrees that Noble and Drinkbeer (I don't drinkwater) and Townsend should have been near the squad. Wilshere played TWO games this year and gets in the England squad. That's cobblers. France should do it. They haven't hit the gas yet and they are grinding results.

Yes the group stages have been pretty dull, the Portugal v Hungary 3-3 and Northern Ireland's win over Italy being the only highlights. The competition really starts now with the knockout stages, I don't see why we (England) can't go all the way despite what the doom mongers say although I've got a sneaky feeling for Italy.

We (England) have probably the best side we are going to have for years to come and considering France Spain and Germany have not hit their usual playing style because they are relatively new players I think this is our best chance. I've been calling for Rooney to be dropped back into a deeper position for years to free up a centre forward position for quicker younger more nimble players. Rooney's Energy if required is more welcome in the middle of the park where he would run 60-70 yards to win back possession if it's lost. What baffles me is the positioning of Daniel Sturridge in the last game. At times he was playing too deep, sometimes on the half way line. I'm unsure where he was supposed to play but you have one of the most deadliest strikes in the premier league (when fit) who's biggest flaw is he sometimes does one too many things but he's so talented he's got to play upfront. Vardy has been a revelation aswell and his pace and finishing means we have the option now of suddenly playing balls over the top for him to run onto to suddenly cause an attack. Harry Kane looks tired, or is suffering from the poor form of Raheem Sterling (another one who got in the team after not playing many games for city) who unfortunately for Kane he plays sterling and Lallana beside him and although lallana is two footed he can't seem to shoot with either foot. It's an exciting young team and I think they can go all the way providing the correct team is played.

Put simply, England are not a tournament team and are rather like Portugal or Belgium where qualification is simple but as soon as the tournament starts, they turn into a group of individuals. I really don't see them doing much and TBH, I could even see Iceland knocking them out.

Poland through on penalties, Wales v Northern Ireland up next, 2-1 to the men in green I reckon.

So happy Poland are through and with Portugal through, I think we've got a great chance to reach the semifinals are very inconsistent - I just hope Lewandowski starts firing
I can't see my Republic beating France but even if not, I hope they put in a great performance like against Italy - play like that and France won't know what will hit them.
