It was a soft penalty, no doubt. I think it was given for the little body check by the second Danish player
You know what though? I couldn’t give a toss! We’ve been on the wrong end of decisions like that many times. As far as I’m concerned, those who had all the information and all the angles gave it and the referee initially gave it. We had been piling on at that particular period and the pressure deserved a goal. In rugby terms, we settled for the three points instead of going for the try. Would I be annoyed if it had been the other way? Of course but like I said, we’ve had those decisions go against us in the past - about time one went out way
And what a time for it to go our way! European Championship Final! I can’t believe we’ve actually made a final in my lifetime. Gareth Southgate is a genius - tie him down for as long as possible
Italy are going to be an enormously tough opponent. Unbeaten in 30-odd games, I’ve been impressed with them in this tournament and I would probably make them favourites personally. But Wembley is going to be rocking on Sunday - it’s going to be an awesome atmosphere and I can’t wait!

I can't wait for it! I don't have a huge interest in football, in all honesty, but I have been watching since they got into the quarter finals this year. Harry's last goal was a brilliant play, wasn't it? COME ON ENGLAND!! 🏴🏴 No it wasn't, it was quite frankly a disgraceful penalty. All that matters now is England are heading to the finals That's all I had in mind, I didn't think we'd get this far, even though I don't think that penalty should have been allowed after rewatching parts of it.

It's the players that have got us this far. Southgate's insistence on Kane being the main man almost came to haunt us, if we didn't get fouled goodness knows what would have happened and why on earth was Saka subbed off so early and why did the Sub get subbed off? Tactically today's game was a disaster and England did not play well at all until near the end and at Extra time. If we put up a performance like this against Italy we will get whitewashed. There needs to be a huge step up to see the same England we had against Germany last week.

Dubious penalty but what the hell, we've been on the receiving end enough times....I'm having to pinch myself, England in a major final!
I thought the free kick Denmark scored from was equally dubious and Jordan Pickford didn't cover himself in glory.
But it was a deserved victory in the end but Denmark can go home with their heads held high.

Well done England! Seeing some bad feelings online about the penalty? That was a rubbish penalty Regardless of the penalty I'm still happy we've gone through

I think it will likely go to extra time at the very least, I don't think there'll be a winner after 90 minutes

He’s shown that he is more than willing to change personnel and tactics to counter the opposition strengths. Tactically, he’s very astute and is backed up by a strong team of coaches. It’s not always about playing well - of course we’d all love to see wave after wave of swashbuckling attacking football but that simply isn’t Southgate’s style. England teams in the past have always seemed scared of the ball - this team loves it and delight in keeping it. If there are no attacking options, pass it back and reset - don’t go for something that’s not there. Personally I find that refreshing to see in an England team This England team has reached a semi-final and a final in the last two major tournaments and has only conceded one goal in this tournament. If you can’t accept the manager has had an influence here I don’t know what to tell you And as for Kane, for me, his game is scoring goals. It doesn’t matter if he goes to sleep in the penalty area as long as he pops up to score. He IS England’s main man

He IS England’s main man I thought it was a bold move taking Jack Grealish off for tactical reasons and it was great to see England playing tiki taka football in the closing minutes, everyone raves about Spain doing it. I think he's got to keep faith in Harry Kane, awful penalty and he was lucky it came straight back to him, I think Kasper will be disappointed that he didn't push it out for a corner.

It doesn’t matter if he goes to sleep in the penalty area as long as he pops up to score. He IS England’s main man But you also need to appreciate the Team pretty much had a complete overhaul in 2018, gone were the players like Gerrard and Rooney who while were world class were quite ball greedy and not coherent as a team. You don't have to go far online to see what people really think of Southgate. Not to mention look at the path England have had this Euros. England vs Croatia, relatively balanced. England vs Scotland - Scotland were far weaker but England couldn't score a single goal. England vs Czech - a single goal in the 12th minute then nothing else at all. England vs Germany - a real good match, England shone and it's how it should have been. England vs Ukraine - if England didn't win this then it'd have been a joke. England vs Denmark was a farcical game. England's two goals came from a Penalty and an Own Goal, none of it was actually caused by the English team. While good news for England, the game wise it was pretty awful. It's no surprise other countries in Europe are creasing at seeing England get into a final despite barely pulling their weight around this tournament. What on earth do you mean it doesn't matter if he goes to sleep in the penalty area? If he's asleep there then how on earth is he meant to pay attention when the crosses come in? He's barely doing the job he's meant to be doing. Kane this entire tournament has been dreadful and you can't really argue with that. Sterling has been a far better performer in the England team, it's just telling when Schick and Ronaldo are still both ahead of Kane despite both going out earlier in the tournament. This reliance on Kane needs to stop and I think the players seem to have realised this, Sterling yesterday was playing far more centre than he usually does and was doing far much more work than Kane was. Not even sure why Kane is the captain to be honest, It's come out of many places now that while Kane carries the armband, Jordan Henderson is who actually keeps up team spirit, team morale and leads on the pitch when he is on.

I don’t understand the constant criticism of this England team. They are in the d*mn final!!! I don’t recall Portugal getting so much criticism for sleep walking their way to the final five years ago. We are not an attacking team but we get the job done. You don’t get points for style in football, all that matters is the end result. This reminds me very much of England’s Rugby World Cup win in 2003. There was a lot of criticism (particularly in Australia) of our apparent reliance on huge forwards and Jonny Wilkinson’s boot. But we simply played to our strengths and won lots of rugby matches doing it. Southgate has got this team playing exactly as he wants and he is winning football matches. Isn’t that the whole point of football? *sigh* It’s a figure of speech. Harry Kane has a history of popping up with important goals when it matters. Strikers don’t necessarily have to play well all the time because their main job is sticking it in the back of the net and Kane can do that I should probably have saved my typing because it’s clear we’re getting nowhere here. It utterly baffles me that we have made our first final in 55 years and there are still people who aren’t happy

Football you need to earn your place, and while it's nice to see England in the final I wouldn't say that this place has been well deserved. Although now they are going up against Italy, a win against Italy could make it all deserved considering how well Italy have been playing.
