Back onto the EL topic, I've heard that TFL are waiting for new roads to be built at Barking Riverside before extending EL1 and EL3 further into The Reach. Which reminds me, did anyone travel on those peak hours 387 journeys to Creekmouth? I did a few times and also walked the entire Renwick Rd / River Rd " tongue", it was CREEPY! Even in daylight it made me feel edgy , also after doing the walk my clothes had a layer of dust over them. EL3 to Marks Gate? Wouldn't that have a real detrimental effect on the 362. It's a fairly low used route as it is and with a quicker alternative to King George Hospital, that could kill it. Can anyone like me, see what a useful extension 62 from Marks Gate to Collier Row would be? Just five minutes further but providing a link between Rose Lane estate and the shops. It could stand along with the 252 near the roundabout. I don't think the patronage on the 362 would be hampered too much, If people want to go to Marks Gate from King George Hospital they'd probably take a 66 then a 62 which would be more frequent. In other news TfL seem to have missed out the Redbridge Library stop for 425 tiles, Does anyone know if this change will actually go ahead on Saturday or if communications within TfL are in such a state.

It's not referenced in this week's Digital Blog update. While that's never 100% accurate there are no meaningful or large scale changes listed. It is all small scale timetable changes and any contract changes where the operator changes. The bus service change document hasn't been updated but that usually happens late in the week so we might get an update tomorrow. I'd not be too astonished if several changes are put back to the 10th June, first weekend after the Coronation of Queen Theresa, Vanquisher of the EU and everthing horrible and not from the 1950s.

The 62 did go to Collier Row for a few years when it was operated by Ensign, with the 62A variant going to Little Heath (I think) via the 173 route between Chadwell Heath and Little Heath. Personally, I don't see any merit in extending the 62 to Collier Row, there's not much you can get in Collier Row that you can't get in Chadwell Heath

Changes document currently on TfL website, nothing for 25 and 425. As changes always start on a Saturday morning and that's only 17 hours away, I assume changes have been deferred again. content.tfl.gov.uk/bus-service-changes.pdf

Why put up the tiles so early

Why put up the tiles so early Because someone forgot to tell the "tile putter upperer" that the change has been delayed by however many weeks because of whatever reason it is this time. Something tells me June and early July is going to see seismic network changes week after week after week as TfL desperately try to catch up.

Why put up the tiles so early I hope it has not got to do with the national shutdown that happens because of an election, like the results effect this?. If it did, then we can only assume that if the conservatives win, the 425 gets extended 10 June. If Labour wins, they will find unexplained funding for the 425 extension to Romford, and UKIP will probably remove the 425 because it only came to the country 10 years ago and suddenly wants to expand and kick out other established routes.

LOL love it, great post. If Labour win, it will cost £13 to extend the 425 to Southend of course because they're always bang on with their figures lol.

It may well wait until 10 June, but given that the changes have already been announced and it's not controversial in the way the 73 /390 are for example, I could see it happening earlier.

Well that has certainly cheered me up

Was finishing my night bus roaming this morning when I travelled down from Ilford to Stepney Green. At Ilford Hill I saw a tile that was covered in white tape, and actually thought it was the 958's old tiles that TfL have forgotten to remove. But as I travel past Little Ilford Lane, it hit me! It was the 425's tiles covered up with a thick piece of white tape. Some tiles have 2 pieces applied to them; I even spotted a tile in Manor Park that's been completely swapped out for a blank tile!! I sooooooo want to think that the maintenance guys ran out of tape and that tile swap was done as a last resort!!

There was a restructure of the 25/425 provisionally scheduled to start this month that appears to have been delayed. Route 25 would operate between Ilford and Oxford Circus at 10bphMonday-Saturday daytimes and 8bph evenings and Sundays. Route 425 extended to run from Ilford to Clapton, Nightingale Road at 6bph Monday-Saturday and 5bph evenings and Sundays.
