185 now down to 4 with two of those going to Camberwell Green which doesn't bode well.

As we're now in the evening peak, 185 has dropped to 5 and 40 to 7. Three of those 40's in service are terminating at Camberwell Green as I suspect those drivers are finishing their shift.

its not pointless because what every garage is doing is if 5 drivers are working they putting them all on one route that why you see some routes next to full allocation, in my area in Edmonton 102 144 149 259 279 349 491 and W3 are not running at all only 34 444 and some 476,s are running also how come is pointless when 94% of routes are not running that what bbc were saying, Interesting point on this, can anyone shed any light on how it is decided which routes have buses and which dont? Do the drivers that decide to work do their normal schedule or does it change? Also, I notice most 38's for example are only going northbound to Mildmay Park...if there is very few buses on a route, do they normally run the full route or would they be concentrated to run short over what is perceived to be the busiest section? I'm assuming in the case of the 63/363 that it was due to the fact that the 363 will at least connect passengers to Elephant & Castle tube where they can use the tube to continue their journeys inside the Zone 1 part, while keeping a bus service for the section of route not served by TfL rail and between Honor Oak and Crystal Palace where the 63 doesn't run. The 363 is using vehicles normally on the 63.

As the 185 was running with huge gaps, I walked to Dulwich to get the 40. I spoke to passengers at two stops along the way and they also decided to walk to the Plough to get the 40.
On the way back, I also got the 40 to Dulwich and at the Library stop, at least 25 people were waiting for a 185 which didn't even show on my bus app. I mentioned this and about 5 people walked towards Forest Hill, yet one woman moaned that she had to get to work, I suggested she walked but said "It's not worth walking for an hour" But waiting at a cold bus stop is?

Is it me, or is taking a group of primary school kids out on a school trip slightly irresponsible considering the limited service on the 40 today?

Six buses out on the 185. One appears to be doing Victoria to Camberwell Green and another doing Camberwell Green to Lewisham.
Nine buses on the 40.

A normal night bus service on Routes 12, 176 and N63 so far.
I take the night bus drivers start before midnight working the daytime workings?

There was virtually no publicity at all about these extra buses. They'd certainly help with the overcrowding caused by ELL passengers going to the Jubilee line at Canada Water.

I asked the driver on the 197 today, one of the stalwarts of TC (I remember him driving the route as the 312) if they were working tomorrow and he had no idea.
As for me tomorrow, it'll be my two feet and possibly a train.

Yep did in 2012 If the TT strike is anything to go by there will be a fair number of buses running. I don't think it was a all London strike because didn't Arriva London routes in service during the strike of 2012? Some did, such as the 197 from TC with the minimum of drivers, but there were no 176's throughout the day.

With Arriva Kent Thamesside not striking, the infamous 160 will be a 'normal' service!

This will be interesting, I wonder if this will mean the majority of services will not run similar to the one back in 2012, or just like the recent TT one where routes run a reduced service Last time round, I remember a very limited 197 service of two drivers which lasted a few hours at most. No other routes round my way operated at all.
