Only a short journey today, but it reflects the lack of comfort on certain types of buses during hot weather.
197 to Peckham - Older DW. Not too bad upstairs, but still warm. 12 to Dulwich Library. WVL The air con really does work properly when it's 25c+. Normally if it's turned on when it's mild, it's like the arctic on the upper deck. 176 to home. VLA. Like an oven. Also the fact the bus was packed, the driver had full uniform on and was getting snappy with passengers blocking the gangway. Can't be an easy bus to drive in the summer?

Having said that the 3's reliability went downhill for a good while when moved to QB, especially where live changeovers were introduced. Let's hope the lesson is learnt should the P13 move to WL where live changeovers will be reintroduced. East Dulwich Sainsbury's would be an ideal place. Or Peckham Bus Station.

A 197 driver gave a passenger a credit card sized handout about the changes today, although it took him a couple of minutes to sort out change and the handout.

Route 176 has it's stand in St. Giles High Street. I wonder post 2018 if this route will be extended back to Oxford Circus or curtailed back to Trafalgar Square?

I felt the driver at Sutton Garage who was sent on GAL's customer awareness course at Q after a complaint was a bit pointless. From what I could see, he dealt with a chancer who didn't have his Oyster 16+ on him well and didn't get much support when he raised legitimate concerns about the job being more difficult.

From what I recall, the proposal was for single deckers, which would be more suitable for Wood Vale and Underhill Road, however the 363 between Peckham and Crystal Palace can still get very busy, so they did the right thing personally by not introducing the P10. I think there was some local opposition from those concerned about losing their direct service to Kings Cross. They still lost it in the end though due to the 63 splitting in two, did they fight for their link when the 63 was split. Not that I remember. I think the increased frequency and the fact they kept the new route kept double deckers compensated for the poor service experienced by 63 passengers between Honor Oak and Crystal Palace.

Yes - annoyingly Barking and Dagenham Council have not published the report on the 498 proposal or, at least, I cannot find it on their website despite it being clearly stated a report was being produced. At the time of the Jubilee Line changes, there was going to be a new P10 from Crystal Palace to Canada Water, broadly over what eventually became the 363 as far as Old Kent Road then cutting through to Bermondsey Station. I would have thought the simplest answer for elderly residents was to run a little shuttle service to and from Crystal Palace serving those little loops that the 931 does at the Kingswood Estate and High Level Drive. The 931 could be removed. Even if it only ran hourly M-S shopping hours it would be big improvement over what they have now. A quick look at a map shows that the two estates are not outside the 400m walk to a stop criteria so even a shuttle might be hard to justify. *However* a Google Streetview wander round both of the 931's Sydenham loops shows a lot of housing / flats and reasonable roads to get round so I think I can see why people are complaining. Other places with sort of density do get regular buses serving them. It seems a bit odd that these areas seem to have been missed when it comes to a direct bus link. Having had a similar virtual stroll today, Hillcrest Estate does look natural bus territory although the comparisons in the article with the Shetland Islands are fairly ludicrous. Maybe a job for the 356 by turning left out of Wells Park Road and running via Sydenham Hill and Westwood Hill to terminate at the Hillcrest Estate? Then you'd have part of Sydenham Hill without a direct bus service to Forest Hill, for which the 356 was intended to serve without having to use the 363 to Lordship Lane, then change.

Was on a P13 this afternoon (I didn't get the number) and where the Abellio London sign is behind the drivers cab, there is some graffiti written in pen, accusing the company of being 'cowboys' The bus had grey seats and had advertising for Wilko in Yiewsley. Probably one of the ex. H28 MPDs clinging on as spares for Abelligrow's MPD routes. The bus you were on was either 8061 (gasket glazed, Urban90s) or 8062 (bonded glazed, Telmac seats) LVF shows 8062 in service today, although looking on YouTube, it looks more likely to be 8061 due to the sound of the engine and peeling bars.
