I wonder what the compromise was. Maybe a bit more form the rail operators to TFL for each travel card sold.

Common sense prevails ! Now let's see a Railcard introduced for everyone like the 16-25 . There is one in the south at least - it's called the Network Railcard and covers the old Network South East area. Instead of introducing railcards, why not just reduce fares across the board instead?

The “Saved” travel card will have a 3% price increase plus any annual price increase on top of that.

Common sense prevails ! Now let's see a Railcard introduced for everyone like the 16-25 . If they were going to introduce a railcard for everyone it defeats the point of the card. Surely the base price of fares would just be reduced by a 1/3?

I'd agree with that would make me happy if all fares were cut by a third , I still think one of the best transport policies the Tories have implemented has been the £2 fare cap but what about us rail users ? I have a Network Railcard which is very handy on weekends but not much use in the week really , but with a 16-25 and 26-30 (which surely there must be some age discrimination loophole 😂) you get peak discounts which aren't advertised but somewhere in the small print but subject to a minimum fare surely they could make like a UK Railcard for like £150 or something but still keep the usual fares for the people who don't travel often who it wouldn't be worth having it for ?
