Which begs the question. Are RMT members and Aslef members on different pay grades; I dread to think that could even be possible as it would create a lot of friction. Union membership doesn’t give different pay grades. Non-members, ASLEF, RMT are paid the same rate. LU are likely to implement the 5% offer for all Staff, with the new rate from January and the backpay being paid before April.

I think this is the first strike since MSL (minimum service legislation) became live few days ago. Basically employer can now issue a work notice to ensure sufficient staff to ensure 40% of the service takes place. Be interesting to see how it will work in practice commonslibrary.parliament.uk/how-will-minimum-service-regulations-affect-passenger-rail/

Well the first punches are already being thrown, with some (you can guess who) forgetting that their very own minimum service level law excludes being able to draft station staff. (There's also the other issue of how safe it would be for the tube to cope with only 40% of services even if some passengers would stay home anyway.)
Great Northern also affected

Khan had another dig down the sofa and found £30m, god only knows from where though. I wonder if Aslef will want a further increase now... Several articles have their spokesperson quoted as saying the 5% previously agreed will now be rejected.
