From next Monday, some morning services running on the Caterham branch are being amended to depart 3 minutes ealier. I dont know why they keep doing this, theyve done it 6 times in the past year They are trying to get London Bridge services to work. I think that trains from different branches are being joined together at Purley and then running as a single train into London Bridge. This is to avoid trains having to join together at London Bridge and depart joined together which was the initial way the timetable was being run. The timetable fell to bits when one of the trains that was supposed to join at LB ran late meaning the other blocked a platform for too long. Much better to join or split them much further out where there is not so much restriction on track / platform capacity.

Ive paid a visit to Selhurst Depot before, and i do see 442's there even though they're based at Stewarts Lane, so we may well continue to see 455's at Selhurst Depot, but most of them will be at Stewarts Lane

I didn't think anything would move out of Scotland until they started to receive new trains. The new EMUs aren't built yet never mind accepted to run on the NR network.

They leave the ScotRail fleet when the franchise is handed to Abellio on April 1st

When are those ex ScotRail 170's entering service? Also, the 455's are receiving network maps above the doors (like the 377's) and new advertising boards next to where the "London Connections" maps used to be

Does anyone know when Southern ceases to exist as a separate company and is absorbed into TSGN? It's supposed to be July 2015 but there's nothing about this anywhere. Southern as a brand that the public sees will carry on but legally I understand it ceases to exist as it merges into the massive TSGN franchise.

I was reading the Southern Wikipedia page the other day actually. It says: "On 25 July 2015, the franchisee will be subsumed into Govia Thameslink Railway, but the existing Southern and Gatwick Express brand identities will be retained alongside those of Thameslink and Great Northern."

The brand stays on when it gets absorbed into GTR, but yes, i think it would cease to exist. Mods, I think it would be fitting to rename this thread GTR (Thameslink/Great Northern/Southern/Gatwick Express) in the next few weeks

What has happened to those 4 class 170's Southern recently acquired? Are there any pictures which have emerged of the "new" units in their Southern Colours
