It's been working for me for a few days now. Must have had a soft launch ahead of the official announcement. In my case it makes no difference to TfL's pockets as I will end up hitting the 7-day cap anyway. Yep same here was working for me on Sunday

Ironically after you said that Geoff Marshall posted on Twitter that he had done exactly that

Ironically after you said that Geoff Marshall posted on Twitter that he had done exactly that Indeed - a sheer fluke on my part. I hadn't seen any of the social media messages when I posted. Mr M even got a "good luck" from the publicity loving Mayor before he set off on his "adventure".

Did wonder when Geoff and my little adventure was going to pop up on here...

Sorry if this has been discussed somewhere else but if I have a 11-15 oyster and I take a bus first and then a train second will it still charge for the train?Or will it not charge me as I traveled on a bus first which is free for 11-15's?

You will be charged for the train. The new facility on the Hopper is if you go Bus - Rail - Bus. In this case the *second* bus journey, if within 1 hour of the time you got on your first bus, will be free. An example would be 412 from Selsdon to Purley, train to East Croydon, then 312 bus to Woodside. A somewhat convoluted example but the 312 bus ride would be free if you boarded within 1 hour of getting on the 412. There are a myriad other examples.

Go to somewhere like Brent Cross bus station, just tap your pass on each bus that pulls up to the stop and get off. Sure you could be that figure by doing this.

I've now watched the video - I have to say that's completely barmy. The only point I picked up was the one about if your bus gets paused and another bus turns up you can leap off and get on it without penalty (if you're on PAYG and within the hour of your 1st touch in). That hadn't dawned on me but I don't use PAYG and my pass allows me to get on any route without restriction. And as for the Mayor pretending he drives the bus when he sits on the front seat upstairs - oh please!

On a serious note, are there many realistic cases of using the unlimited hopper fare where the only way to reach the destination requires more than one change of bus & is within an hour - for example, a Chipstead Valley to Worcester Park journey has to be done via a 166, S1 and then a 151/213/X26.

A bus being paused and people piling off en masse onto a bus behind really isn't satisfactory.

Surely you have to travel at least one stop to claim any sort of record? All a bit of fun but I can't help thinking some people have too much time on their hands lol.
