Go Coach took over a few of Arriva's routes before. The 421 between Swanley and Sevenoaks, the 478 between Swanley and West Kingsdown, and the Swanley to Dartford section of the 423 (which became the 429). I wouldn't be surprised to see them give it a try between Orpington and Sevenoaks. The 429 and 478 are now in one bringing back the through West Kingsdown to Dartford service.

Let's not forget that the 421 and 429 are KCC funded services so any Orpington-Sevenoaks routes would be reliant on KCC stumping up the cash, as I really can't see Go Coach chancing a purely commercial service.

Hope the 402 keeps going as it is. I love those Optare Versas - nicest single decker I've ridden on in many years.

So in the last week, two of the regulars on the R5/R10 who live in Halstead and are usually pretty reliable in these matters have told me the 402 is definitely being withdrawn between Bromley and Dunton Green in July. Apparently no replacement is planned and I can't see TfL funding one despite the fact I think a TfL service covering the 402 between Bromley and, at least, Knockholt Pound would be well used. Failing that, I do wonder if Go Coach will come up with something even if it's only a handful of trips linking Halstead to Sevenoaks - a link the locals in Halstead seemingly don't want to lose

I don't know who to listen to now If the London section is cut, wouldn't it make more sense to still run it from Badger's Mount or Halstead to Tunbridge Wells rather than Dunton Green?

If July was to be the withdrawal date then they wouldn't want the bad press that would come with such a withdrawal to drag on for 4 months. We shall see over the coming weeks and months. My gut feeling is that it's going

It's clear Arriva want shot of it though so I still think it's days are numbered

I do find it ironic in the extreme that we have Tory MPs and most likely Tory voters jumping up and down at the consequences of Tory policies on local authority funding, the scrapping of TfL's revenue grant and Nicholas Ridley's 30 year old policy of bus deregulation. You'd think they'd be clever enough to see the link between their votes and what arrives on their doorstep in terms of public services being wrecked.

To be fair to Arriva, why should they run a costly service for a relatively small population within a London borough ? It's a commercial operation which probably breaks even on the Dunton Green - RTW section. Having an hourly bus into Bromley, getting stuck in traffic and replicating a high frequency route to Green Street Green isn't .
It's a shame, but not a surprise. Also not a surprise that TfL won't consider extending the R1/11 .

Is there a map of how the proposed services will look? Its a bit complicated to imagine with all the changes
