I presume the need to upgrade Colindale is down to the new housing in the area? Yes. In-fact it is even acknowledged on Barnet Council’s website Colindale of fastest in London for population growth, second only to Stratford. Will also help with deprivation as well, hence levelling up fund to help with step free access. Only a few years also since Barnet Council moved their HQ to the area as well make that you will. Hopefully disruption will be minimised with provisions in place via TFL. Thankfully in Golders Green/Brent Cross Finchley Central Station is a good alternative (esp for me into TCR/King’s Cross Station) as well as Kingsbury/Canons Park. Or 113/240 for other links. I guess 142 helps a bit for Colindale/Burnt Oak. 125 and SL10 also provide useful links from Hendon/Colindale to Finchley Central as an alternative, and the Jubilee Line will also provide another alternative for Central London bound journeys, even though they serve quite different parts of Central London.

I'm assuming a rail replacement route will be running from Edgware to GG even though as was found with the Bank branch closure and the 733 most passengers tend to make there own ways to other stations or use regular routes. That is the impression I get as well when Edgware-GG and vice versa gets shut. BE37054 (quoll662) Ah yes, I totally forgot about the 125/SL10 links. Another nice alternative there. I mention those route links alternatives, as thankfully a part of outer London where it is very nicely interlinked between several suburbs. Hopefully all that stuff will be communicated closer to time as well.

Thameslink is probably the best alternative for most areas, with Mill Hill Broadway, Hendon, Brent Cross West and Cricklewood all close by and with good bus connections to areas around the Northern Line

The Northern Line will be closed between Golders Green and Edgware over a ten-day period in April 2024, to allow preparatory work for the rebuilding of Colindale Station to take place. The closure takes place from Tuesday 2nd April, which is just after the Easter weekend, and lasts until Thursday 11th April. Further weekend closures have been confirmed in June, for the weekends 15/16, 22/23 and 29/30 June. Colindale Station itself will close temporarily from Summer 2024 to allow the works to take place. www.ianvisits.co.uk/articles/northern-line-set-for-partial-closure-in-april-2024-68655/ It is now confirmed that Colindale Station will close after Friday 7th June for seven months, to allow the ongoing reconstruction. From December 2024 pasesengers will be able to use a temporary passageway until the works are finally completed in Autumn 2025. Passengers are advised to use local bus links to Burnt Oak and Hendon Central, or to Kingsbury for the Jubilee Line, or Mill Hill Broadway for Thameslink services. TfL has said that some local routes may be enhanced while Colindale station is closed. There will be a further weekend closure of the Northern Line between Golders Green and Edgware over the weekend of 27/28 July, in addition to the April ten-day closure and the June weekend closures already mentioned above. www.ianvisits.co.uk/articles/colindale-tube-station-to-close-in-june-for-major-rebuilding-works-70041/

Was on a Northern Line train yesterday afternoon going from Clapham to Bank. At Borough, the driver announced London Bridge was closed and advised passengers to get off and walk. Then as we got to London Bridge, there were people standing on the platform waiting for a train as the train I was on sped through. Anyone know what was going on?

Faulty platform equipment, could have been OPO cameras out of alignment.

Why have the northbound Northern Line trains slowed down between Kennington and Waterloo? Until recently they used to be very fast. Now they crawl along.
