22 won't lose much from the shortening, as much as I like boarding and alighting from Regent Street north of Oxford Street. It will save time being stuck in the Regent Street traffic though (by the way, as an aside, I'd recommend asking for Regent Street to be bus only on the consultation they are currently conducting for Regent Street. They state that there has been a slight increase in southbound bus travelling times due to the kerb extensions and that they will review some kerb extensions to compensate... don't think that'll work). 73 change will be annoying. A non significant number of passengers (myself included) like how the first stop is at the side door of John Lewis. Already that the drop off stop is no longer there...
With regards to the rest of the proposals which concern buses, Orchard St SB and more of Oxford St will become bus only either daytime or 24 hr which can only be a good thing.
Edit: as part of the bus stop rationalisation and reorganisation, the stop formerly known as Dean St. (now Tottenham Court Rd. Station) on Oxford St. westbound is now close to TCR (St. Giles Circus) which is nice considering the loss of the stop before Centre Point for routes on Gower Street southbound when TCR went two way.

My only problem with this is the 22. I hope buses set down and pick up on stand, because otherwise it's being yanked back quite far from Oxford Circus. The pickup on Regent Street is well used at the moment. The powerpoint does state "Proposed bus stop and stand" for the 22 for the black roundels, as opposed to just "Proposed bus stop" for the other routes so fingers crossed it remains this way and doesn't get changed due to 'operational reasons' or whatever other excuse.

What Westminster Council should be concerned is how fewer buses result to less used stops. This means fewer passengers/shoppers which is not a surprise for anyone that has been there recently.

Absolutely, you’d think they would see the link between reductions in bus services and lower footfall. It’s not all about Crossrail. They should be encouraging more Westminster residents to shop in Oxford Street.

Westminster Council has now approved the revamp of Oxford Street, subject to funding being available work will commence next Autumn. The Council has approved an initial £7.7 million and is looking for up to £25 million from businesses in the area. The road will not be pedestrianised - that was taken off the table a while ago. However pavements will be widened and crossings will also be made wider, with longer pedestrian phases. Additional formal crossing places will be established. Street furniture and other general clutter on the pavements will also be relocated. All turns at Oxford Circus will be banned - so straight ahead only. This will allow the pavements at Oxford Circus to be built out so that pedestrian crossing times can be reduced - this could potentially reduce congestion. This will require changes to some bus routes in the vicinity of Oxford Circus, with some stops and stands being relocated - these have already been discussed in this post: tangytango.proboards.com/post/759712www.ianvisits.co.uk/articles/westminster-council-approves-oxford-street-revamp-paving-the-way-for-wider-pavements-and-less-clutter-65674/

The only thing left to widen are the bus stop lay-bys but that won’t create much room. At some point somebody has to accept this Oxford Street is like a pig with lipstick. You can tart it up but it’ll still be just as ugly.

And TfL get their wish in finally pulling back the 94 off Regent Street. I assume buses will have a roundabout way of accessing Regent Street from Oxford Street West, but TfL already specified Portman Square for the 94 blindset. They won't hesitate in pulling it back.

I thought 94 change was formally cancelled so I think this time it will go on the back streets to still reach Picc Circus.

I can go to either Westfield and go to the exact same shops, eat, see a movie and visit a casino. Oxford Street has zero appeal nowadays and only really caters to tourists and Arabs doing Eid shopping.

No 94 or 139 down Regent to Piccadilly. All Westminster council are doing is making travel by bus more difficult. I imagine that this will require revision to some of the services currently terminating at Oxford Circus. TfL might struggle to accommodate so many routes if Regent Street and Oxford Circus are ahead only. Maybe there will be an exception for buses only in the final scheme. I don’t think the scheme will generate more footfall. Will be interesting to see if businesses choose to vacate instead of paying increased rates.

Oxford Street really has lost its appeal to Londoners, from the candy shops to the loss of big brands. I’ve noticed more tourists are often going to the Shepherd’s Bush Westfield as well. Had Croydon’s revival gone through, it would’ve certainly been another nail in the coffin. Even now, many down-at-heel town centres across London are set for major regeneration plans, or are already undergoing them.

Croydon used to be a destination for us but it's a dump and the Whitgift like a mortuary at times

The 94 is not being pulled from Regent Street, the set of bus route maps issued in the consultation show the proposed impacts on individual routes. The 94 and 139 will continue to serve Regent Street but will make the right hand turn into Regent Street to the north of Oxford Circus instead. There will be a time penalty involved. The 94 has always had a curtailment point at Portman Square - that is nothing new, so of course the buses would be blinded for that.

The number of fancy cars / number plates is mind boggling - no one will even look at you if you are driving a fancy bmw / Audi / merc. Has to be a Lamborghini / Ferrari / aston Martin / Porsche at least. Even saw a couple of Bugatti Chiron / veyron once - what a car!
