London United need to pull their s**t together. They are refusing to listen to the passengers complaints about the Dennis Darts and how cramped the bus is. I think some E400s should be transferred to S so then 72 can actually be run without drivers spamming the ‘Please move down inside the bus’ announcement. Are you suggesting that LU build a new bridge over the Thames then Or pay for repairs to Hammersmith Bridge? I've mentioned this before, the new bridge at Walton was built adjacent to the old 'Bailey Bridge' which was there for years.Cannot see why a new bridge is not built adjacent to Hammersmith Bridge. The existing bridge could then be left for pedestrians and cyclists. The costs MUST come from Central Government with no excuses.

72 can't use DDs because of Hammersmith Bridge. DDs were ordered for the route but diverted to the 94 because the work on the bridge hadn't been done. The VHs for the 72 wasn't diverted to the 94, they were diverted to London Sovereign temporarily for the 13 then was diverted to the 18 and the 94s VHs were ordered to replace the TAs in 2016 The 94 was definitely included anyway as the 13 and 94 switched vehicles.

I completely agree, I know the bridge in Walton quite well and the long term benefits to the area are obvious. Many a night me and friends were caught in long queues in both direction and whilst there are still these they are mostly confined towards Walton town centre. There is no reason why a CPO couldn’t be done for buildings on the Hammersmith side and park land reclaimed on the Castlenau side. The existing bridge could then be preserved in line with the heritage status.

I don't think there is a hope in hell of a new bridge being built at Hammersmith, far better to close it permanently to all but buses, emergency vehicles, cyclists and motor cyclists.

Anyway, moving away from Hammersmith Bridge .... Route W13 (Leytonstone-Woodford Wells) has a scheduled d/d working on Schooldays and this stays out during the evening peak. Far more unusual though was the appearance of Tridents 17931 and 17992 on route D3 during the evening peak of Thursday 29th March this year. This was during the DLR strike and the buses operated between Whitechapel Station and Leamouth (so avoiding the low bridge in Vallance Road). The Tridents also operated direct via The Highway, omitting the loop around Wapping. There were also several Trustybus Dennis Darts operating extras between Whitechapel and Leamouth and these did operate via Wapping. Below is a photo I took of 17992 in Cannon Street Road having just alighted: DLR Strike Extras - March 2018 by Julian Walker, on Flickr

So we all know of routes that are mainly SD but have DD workings but are there any that are the opposite and are mainly DD but have SD workings?
