It’s been missing in action since January. On paper isn’t it one of the SL3’s buses?

What is the point of converting LTs to EV if there gonna be gone by 2030 anyways?

What is the point of converting LTs to EV if there gonna be gone by 2030 anyways? How do you know they will be gone? Even if they go by 31st December 2030 that's 6 years away not next week. I doubt many / If any further LTs will be converted. TfL own the buses so they can be flexible with the rules on how long they can remain in service.

Very expensive to buy in the first place, originally running them with conductors, then they needed to have the windows modified, then the door setup, not to mention the unreliability. Spending more on converting them to electric too (and drivetrain conversions have historically never ended well) really is just throwing more good money after bad

I hope no money is wasted on converting to electric but don’t see a major issue in them carrying on in service to the 2030s even if in lighter duties like school routes.

I suspect they will all be done. Look at how late the D stock Underground stock was refurbished and then withdrawn.

I didn't get the vehicle number, but was on a 75 earlier towards Lewisham where the internal lights kept flickering every time the petrol engine came on a hybrid.

Trams and trolleybuses often did that when they crossed a section break*! * a very short section of neutral wiring between two powered sub-sections.
