A few ideas of my own if the 476 stand situation at King's Cross cannot be sorted, take these with a grain of salt!
Route 74: Extended from Baker Street to Camden Town. The 74 can get bogged down with traffic admittedly, so would remain to be seen how this could cope but this is likely more viable than an extension to Roehampton along the 430! Would be subject to less traffic by a country mile, although I am aware that Camden can get bunged up (I do live in North London after all!). Would remove a bus route between Lancaster Gate and Marble Arch, as well as one between Baker Street and Marble Arch. (+4)
Route 274: Discontinued (-14)
Route 476: Diverted at Islington Angel to Camden Town along the 274. Removes a bus route between King's Cross and Angel that largely carries air due to the inconvenient placement of the stand (unless it were to revert to running to Euston or it taking the ex 45 stand then I can't see much point in it continuing to run to King's Cross). Would provide some neat east to west links across North London though. (+2)
Overall PVR change: -8

When buses do need to do this on diversion they go around the gyratory around the City Road one way (so where the 274 stand is). A bit of a detour though.

(+2) Overall PVR change: -8 I think the 476 should extend to Trafalgar Square (via Euston, Warren Street, Tottenham Court Road and Leicester Square, turning into a 24 hour route) and start at Meridian Water due to the Meridian Water development. This would create a direct bus link between King’s Cross & Euston and Leicester Square which would be handy. Also, if this was to happen, 476 would be the only direct bus running from Warren Street & Tottenham Court Road to Seven Sisters which would mean people wouldn’t have to take a packed 29 and change at Holloway, FPK or Manor House for the 259 or 279 if they don’t want to take the Victoria line from Warren Street Station.

(+2) Overall PVR change: -8 If you were to extend the 74 to Camden Town, I would have it swap routings with the 430 between West Brompton & South Kensington, so that it doesn’t take the longer detour via the traffic in Earls Court. The 476 idea looks interesting as well, but you would probably have to route it via Penton St so that it doesn’t awkwardly manoeuvre round the 1 way system in Angel. This would mean Chapel Market would only be left with the 153 & 394.

I doubt anyone would go specifically from Seven Sisters to Warren St/TCR via bus & would probably just use the tube at that point.

Only adjustments I’d make is extending the 476 slightly further to Mornington Crescent. Stand space is available and Agar Grove have similar communities to South Camden, as well as the two high schools nearby. And towards Northumberland Park, it would have to go via Penton Street and White Lion Street instead of Liverpool Road and Islington Police Station due to the gyratory, but I dont think its too much of an issue. Just means Sainsburys customers have use to use the Car park exit to their bus stop rather than the front entrance. I would think there’s also merit in swapping the 56, 274 and 476 terminals. As mentioned above, (instead of the 476) you could reroute the 56 linking the Camden area with Islington, Dalston, Hackney and Leyton which is currently not linked and IMO quite popular. Swap the 476 to Bart’s Hospital giving another link via Canonbury and Stokey to the City (although there is also the 243) and axing the 274

I think the 56 is great tbh - its a feeder for the 30/38/55 and is perfect between Angel and Whipps Cross at least. Beyond that is single integer usage because theres not much in S’t Luke’s but overall decent

The current section between Dalston and Barts is well used and been there before 56 with other buses over the years. The 56 is also very popular between Dalston and Bakers Arms and has been for years. Even when the 38 used to terminate at Leyton Green. The 56 had replace the 48 between Clapton Pond and Dalston Junction, when the 38 was changed to mirror the 55 between Clapton Pond and Shoreditch after the 35 was cut back to Shoreditch.

Minor Changes to Friern Barnet Buses:43: Extended to New Southgate 683: Extended to Friern Barnet/Halliwick Park (43’s current termination) The 43 I think is too long to extend & there’s no benefit in extending the 683 to the 43’s stand, as it only has 1 journey it can’t make use of the 43’s stand.
