Minor Changes to Friern Barnet Buses:43: Extended to New Southgate 683: Extended to Friern Barnet/Halliwick Park (43’s current termination) The 43 I think is too long to extend & there’s no benefit in extending the 683 to the 43’s stand, as it only has 1 journey it can’t make use of the 43’s stand. Though I could potentially see this being useful at the same time. I did previously suggest extending the 43 could bring some round to corner links by linking Muswell Hill and Archway directly, currently not in place.

I don't think the New Southgate stand would be able to hold the 134 unless you convert the station forecourt to a stand there

Well, 43 would actually be one of the only night buses going to New Southgate if it were to extend and things such as new direct links would be benefited for passengers even though it’s only a 3 stop extension.

Could the 234 & 382 swap termini after Friern Barnet? I think this could make the 234 being extended from the 271 consultation more useful (the section south of Friern Barnet would now be 382). The only disadvantage I see to this is New Southgate losing its link to Finchley Central.

Incorrect, the N91 serves New Southgate Station.

Moderate changes in and around Catford, Hither Green and Lewisham areas:
124: Extended from Catford Bridge to Lewisham Station via current 284 with an enhanced frequency of 8-9mins and a few extra journeys during peak hours. The route would no longer serve St Dunstan's College as route 336 will takeover that section. The operating hours would widen slightly (Approx. 4:45am - 1:45am).
225: Withdrawn - Replaced by changes to route 284.
284: Merged with route 225 and rerouted between Catford, St Andrews Church and Lewisham Fire Station, via Torridon Road, Hither Green Lane, Courthill Road, and current 225 towards Canada Water - with the route operating to every 12mins during the day (Incl Peaks) (Mon-Fri) 20mins (Sun).
336: Rerouted at Catford to terminate at St Dunstan's College instead of Catford Bridge/Thomas Lane.

None of these ideas are good at all disagree with them all especially the 225. Someone who is local to this area the current arrangements for all the routes are completely fine. I wouldn’t extend the 124 to Lewisham the current frequency matches demand especially between Catford & Grove Park. In addition this forces more single door buses along the extended section which is not needed. 225 doesn’t need to be replaced with another route. It isn’t broken and does not need fixing. 284 to Canada Water… more like 284s getting stuck in Deptford and curtailed to Surrey Quays and Grove Park. Needs no extension at all. The route is already troublesome at times with traffic delays… In addition this change disrupts commuters. A lot of people use the 284 between from Northover, Verdant Lane etc towards Catford as well as the other feeding services 124 160 181 into Catford to get to the train stations. 336 is well used on Thomas Lane so I disagree with that change.

Yes provides a direct link from Northover to Lewisham and the 336 serves Catford stations.

232: withdrawn between Wood Green and Turnpike Lane. Diverted to Tottenham via route 243. Or extended from Turnpike Lane to Tottenham via route 123.
I had this weird dream being stuck in Tottenham and i kept seeing e-tiles of the 232 on the bus stops and I thought that could be an idea. I was going to send it via the 318 routing and I remembered the low bridge that couldn’t be a good idea if it needs to be converted. Oddly the dream also had a WVL on the 123 but that’s another story,

Maybe it could work if the popular suggestion of the route being cut back to Brent Cross, with the 112 & the single deck route introduced between St Raphael’s & North Finchley.

There will surely be changes to 112 and 232 when that new superloop that runs from Ealing Broadway to Hendon comes out.
